This disclosure provides an encapsulated cleansing composition that is free of talc and that includes a core particle including (1) tapioca starch, (2) potato starch, (3) at least one anionic surfactant, and (4) at least one amphoteric surfactant. The encapsulated cleaning composition also includes a coating disposed about at least a portion of the core particle and includes a polysaccharide.

The invention provides an oil-in-water emulsified cosmetic containing (a) an aqueous medium, (b) two or more higher fatty acids of 12 to 24 carbon atoms and alkali metal salts thereof, (c) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of monoalkyl glyceryl ethers having an alkyl group of 12 to 24 carbon atoms and monoalkenyl glyceryl ethers having an alkenyl group of 12 to 24 carbon atoms, (d) a thickener comprising (d-1) a polysaccharide derived from a microorganism and (d-2) a (meth)acrylic-based polymer selected from the group consisting of a poly(meth)acrylic acid salt and a polymer including at least one selected from the group consisting of a (meth)acrylic acid ester, a (meth)acryloylalkyltaurine and a salt thereof as a structural unit, and (e) a nonionic surfactant.

The present invention relates to a composition, notably an aqueous cosmetic composition, comprising at least one screening agent chosen from water-soluble or water-dispersible screening agents that are capable of absorbing UV rays from 320 to 400 nm (UVA), water-soluble or water-dispersible screening agents that are capable of absorbing UV rays from 280 to 320 nm (UVB), and mixtures thereof; at least one hydrophilic thickener; and at least one surfactant with an HLB of greater than or equal to 7.

The present invention also relates to a non-therapeutic cosmetic process for treating keratin materials, preferably the skin, comprising the application, to said keratin materials, of a composition according to the invention.

Topical delivery systems are described. The topical delivery systems include at least one skin care active and nanocellulose in a cosmetic composition. It has been surprisingly found that the presence of nanocellulose in a cosmetic composition enhances or regulates the penetration of skin care actives. The present application further describes a cosmetic composition comprising a skin care active and nanocellulose and use thereof.

A process for the preparation of C4 to C24 alkyl polyglycosides by the use of an enzyme to react C4 to C24 alkyl glycoside with a glycosyl donor containing monosaccharide residues, wherein the C4 to C24 alkyl polyglycosides have a mole-average degree of polymerization (mean DP) of the glycoside chains of greater than 1.5 units. The C4 to C24 alkyl polyglycosides are particularly useful in personal care formulations.

The present invention relates to a composition in the form of a water-in-oil (W/O) emulsion comprising an oily phase and an aqueous phase, comprising: (a) at least one oil; (b) at least one organic lipophilic gelling agent; (c) at least one pigment coated with isopropyl titanium triisostearate; and (d) water; wherein the amount of the (b) lipophilic gelling agent is greater than 0% by weight and less than 5% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition, and the amount of the aqueous phase is at least 50% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.

The present disclosure relates to hair care compositions such as hair treatment compositions and hair lightening compositions, methods for treating hair (e.g., lightening hair), and to kits comprising the compositions. The components of the hair treatment compositions may be included in hair lightening compositions and used to lighten and/or color hair. The hair treatment compositions typically include: (a) one or more polycarboxylic acids, and/or a salt thereof; (b) one or more amino acids, and/or a salt thereof; and optionally (c) one or more cationic conditioning agents. Disclosed herein are oral care compositions comprising a peroxide whitening complex in an amount to provide from 3.5% to 7% of hydrogen peroxide by weight of the composition, and a block copolymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide in an amount of from 40% to 60% by weight of the composition. The invention relates to a unit dose sachet comprising a perfume composition, wherein the perfume composition is a gel which comprises i) 0.2 to 2.0% by weight of a gelling agent selected from acrylates/C.sub.10-C.sub.30 alkyl acrylate cross polymers; ii) 60.0 to 75.0% by weight of a cosmetically acceptable alcohol; iii) 0.8 to 9.0% by weight of a fragrance composition having a liquid bulk specific gravity 20/20° C. of 0.97 to 1.08, a refractive index at 20° C. of 1.45 to 1.53 and a flash point of 100° C. to 1000° C.; iv) 0.5 to 1.5% by weight of a stabilizer; and v) 0.5 to 2.4% by weight of a solubilizer, vi) water up to 100% by weight, wherein the composition has a viscosity of 17,500 to 24,200 cps, and wherein the ratio of fragrance composition:gelling agent:alcohol is from 1:0.06:6 to 1:0.16:12.5.
