METHOD FOR PRODUCING COMPOSITION CONTAINING HARDLY WATER-SOLUBLE AROMATIC COMPOUND
To provide a new method for producing a composition containing a hardly water-soluble aromatic compound, the composition having outstanding hardly water-soluble aromatic compound.
A method for producing a composition containing a hardly water-soluble aromatic compound, comprising:
Step (1) of obtaining a hardly water-soluble aromatic compound solution Step (1) comprising Step (1-1) of preparing a material for heating comprising (A) a hardly water-soluble aromatic compound, (B) a polyol, and (C) an aqueous medium, and Step (1-2) of obtaining a heated solution containing a hardly water-soluble aromatic compound by heating the material for heating at normal pressure at a temperature of less than 100 C.; and
Step (2) of obtaining a hardly water-soluble aromatic compound solution 2 by adding water to the hardly water-soluble aromatic compound solution 1 such that the hardly water-soluble aromatic compound solution 2 has a concentration of the (A) hardly water-soluble aromatic compound above a saturation solubility at 25 C.,
wherein, in Step (1), a content of a surfactant in the material for heating is 0.1 mass % or less and a content of the (A) hardly water-soluble aromatic compound in the material for heating is below a saturation solubility of the (A) hardly water-soluble aromatic compound in a solvent having the same composition at 25 C.
Personal care compositions containing complexing polyelectrolytes
Compositions of the invention contain, in a cosmetically acceptable aqueous medium, a) a cationic polyelectrolyte, b) at least one surfactant; and (c) from about 0.01 to about 1.2 weight percent of an anionic polyelectrolyte, where the weight ratio of the anionic polyelectrolyte to the cationic polyelectrolyte is from about 0.05 to about 1.2, and where the composition exhibits a viscosity change that is below a minimum significant-change-threshold (min) and exhibits no measurable yield stress or increase in yield stress value when compared to a substantially identical composition that does not contain from about 0.01 to about 1.2 weight percent of the anionic polyelectrolyte, at a weight ratio of anionic polyelectrolyte to cationic polyelectrolyte of from about 0.05 to about 1.2.
Hair growth composition and method
The present invention relates to clear compositions for and methods of retarding hair loss or facilitating hair growth comprising a hair growth active, a C.sub.8-C.sub.24 alcohol ester of a carboxylic acid and a pharmaceutically acceptable topical carrier comprising monohydric and, optionally, dihydric alcohols and water.
ANTIOXIDANT COMPLEX AND COMPOSITION FOR FORMING SAME
The present invention is applied to the skin care cosmetic field and relates to an antioxidant complex that exhibits excellent antioxidant capacity within cells. An antioxidant complex according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise flavonoid having an antioxidant efficacy, and a solubilizer solubilizing the flavonoid.
COSMETIC COMPOSITIONS
Suggested is a cosmetic composition, comprising (a) at least one acetophenone derivative or a cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in a working amount of from 0.1 to 0.5% b.w.calculated on the total composition, (b) at least one oil body or wax, and/or (c) at least one emulsifier and optionally (d) at least one active principle.
The compositions show improved emulsion stability.
METHOD FOR IMPROVING SOLUBILITY OF SPARINGLY WATER-SOLUBLE COMPONENT
A method for improving the solubility of a sparingly water-soluble component, the method including blending a compound represented by general formula (1) below with the sparingly water-soluble component in the presence of water. In formula (1), R.sup.1 denotes a group represented by formula (2) or a hydrocarbon group having 2 or 3 carbon atoms. In formula (2), R.sup.2 denotes an alkylene group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and n represents a number that is 0 or 1.
