An up-lighting floor mat includes floor matting that defines an upwardly-facing surface and an opposed downwardly-facing surface when supported atop an upwardly-facing support surface, and that is formed from a first flexible material that enables the up-lighting floor mat to be rolled up for transport or storage; and a first elongate up-lighting assembly positioned within a first elongate slot defined through the floor matting to emit light upwardly from the first elongate slot, wherein at least one elongate edge defined by the first up-lighting assembly is bonded to at least one edge of the floor matting that defines the first elongate slot.

A lighting arrangement comprises a carpet structure and a control unit. The carpet structure includes a carpet back lighting system comprising a carpet back lighting unit having a lighting unit front face and a plurality of light sources. The carpet structure further includes a light transmissive carpet unit comprising a carpet unit front face and a carpet unit back side. The lighting unit front face and the carpet unit back side are adjacent. The carpet unit is arranged to transmit at least part of the light travelling in a direction from the carpet unit back side to the carpet unit front face. The control unit is configured to receive one or more input signals and is configured to generate, in response to one or more input signals, one or more output signals to control the light generated by the light sources.

The presented invention facilitates creation of floors and other utilitarian spaces incorporating supplementary, illuminated decorations. It may be utilized in house and public facilities building-oriented branches of construction industry, and in the furniture joinery industry. It can also be incorporated into already finished spaces. The utilized light sources (4) are LED diodes and/or LED diode sets, and/or optical fibers, and/or halogen lamps, and/or cold cathodes, and/or light mat. The aforementioned light sources (4) are located in a circular manner, and/or separate fashion, and/or between the bottom layer (7) and the top layer (1). The building component may incorporate a heating mat (6) situated below the light mat, as well as an additional layer (9), preferably of the thickness of 112 mm and supplementary elements of the design (10), preferably of the thickness of 112 mm.

A floor covering system (10) with (a) a PVC-based floor covering (100) and (b) a lighting system (200) arranged to generate light (210). The PVC-based floor covering (100) has a user side (101) and an opposite back side (102). The lighting system (200) is arranged at the back side (102) of the PVC-based floor covering (100). The plate may have a flange, a decorative face plate and side panels attached to direct light from the fixture along the hardscape on which the lamp is mounted. The invention relates to a lighted rail for a false wall with a stretched canvas comprising a first wing for securing the rail onto a wall, a first channel so arranged as to enable the canvas to be hung and a second channel provided between the first channel and the first wing, and wherein lighting elements are mounted, characterized in that said rail comprises a cover partially closing the second channel, with said cover being so arranged as to extend under the lighting elements secured on a wall laterally delimiting the first and second channels with respect to each other.

The present disclosure relates to portable dance floors comprising, in various embodiments, one or more panels that can be rolled up for easy storage and transport; or one or more removably couplable panels that can be assembled and disassembled in modular configurations; or one or more panels that are connected with a hinge, such as a living hinge. The panels can comprise lightweight and durable materials that can be flexible or rigid, such that the portable dance floors can be easily stored, transported, and assembled or disassembled and dismantled by a single user or a low number of users. The present disclosure also relates to methods of assembling and disassembling or dismantling a portable dance floor.
