Use of an amphoteric chelating agent for preventing contact allergies
A method of preventing contact allergies includes using at least one amphoteric chelating agent which includes a complex based on aluminium and on ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or the trisodium salt thereof, having the general formula [Al(Y)Bn]c′Dc with B being OH.sup.−, BO.sub.2.sup.− or H.sup.+, Y being a tetracarboxylate which can be protonated four times to form ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, n being an integer equal to 0, 1, 2 or 3, D being a counterion, preferably Na.sup.+, c being an integer equal to 0, 1, 2 or 3 and c′ being a relative number having the same absolute value as c. A device, a part of which includes the amphoteric chelating agent, is also described.
METAL SEQUESTERING COSMETIC COMPOSITION
A cosmetic composition including a metal chelation system includes a combination of ascorbic acid, ferulic acid and phytic acid in a carrier system that includes water, and further includes one or more other ingredients for providing one of a variety of forms of cosmetic products. The cosmetic composition demonstrates removal of free metal ions in material contacted with the cosmetic composition, the removal of free metal ions in a range from at least about 40% and up to about 99%.
Oral Care Compositions and Methods of Using the Compositions
An oral care composition comprising zinc phosphate and stannous fluoride.
LIQUID ANTIMICROBIAL COMPOSITION
A liquid antimicrobial composition is provided for use in the disinfection of the skin of a human or an animal, in particular where disinfection of a drug resistant organism is required. The composition comprises a cationic, cell membrane-disrupting biocide and a cationic dendrimer capable of inhibiting an efflux pump mechanism of said cell membrane. The cationic, cell membrane-disrupting biocide is preferably any or a combination of chlorhexidine, a polymeric biguanide, octenidine dihydrochloride and a quaternary ammonium compound. The dendrimer is provided to bind and disrupt the cell membranes of microorganisms in order to inhibit or destroy the cell's efflux pump mechanism thereby preventing microorganism strains resistant to the cationic membrane-disrupting biocide from becoming prevalent, particularly if the biocide comprises chlorhexidine. The dendrimer is preferably a G-0 to G-3 dendrimer comprising any or a combination of quaternary ammonium functionalised poly(propylene imine), polylysine, dendrimers with surface groups based on a sugar and polyamide amine (PAMAM) dendrimers. The composition is preferably in the form of an aqueous or aqueous alcohol solution, dispersion or emulsion that may have been adsorbed by a wipe.
METHOD OF REDUCING CONCENTRATIONS OF ONE OR MORE OF N2O and NO IN MEDIUM
A method of reducing a concentration of N.sub.2O, NO, or a combination thereof in a medium, the method comprising: culturing a microorganism of the genus Paracoccus, a microorganism of the genus Pseudomonas, or a combination thereof in a liquid medium comprising Mg.sup.2+ ions and Fe(II)(L)-NO, N.sub.2O, or a combination thereof, wherein L is a chelating agent; and reducing NO to N.sub.2O or N.sub.2, or reducing N.sub.2O to N.sub.2.
SKIN ANTI-AGEING AND REVITALIZING COSMETIC GEL COMPOSITION
A water-based cosmetic gel composition for topical application to the skin, having an anti-ageing, moisturising, brightening and revitalizing effect on the skin, is provided. The water-based cosmetic gel composition includes a combination of biomimetic peptides and, optionally, hyaluronic acid salt, panthenol, and one or more ingredients selected from the group consisting of thickening agents, wetting agents, solubilizing agents, chelating agents, pH adjusting agents, preserving agents, and combinations thereof.
Oxidizing composition for treating keratin fibres, comprising a scleroglucan gum and a phosphorus-based sequestrant
The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition for treating keratin fibres, preferably human keratin fibres such as the hair, comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium: —one or more chemical oxidizing agents, —one or more scleroglucan gums, —one or more phosphorus-based sequestrants. The present invention also relates to a process for treating keratin fibres, preferably human keratin fibres such as the hair, comprising the application of the composition to the keratin fibres. The process according to the invention is preferably a process for bleaching, dyeing or permanently reshaping keratin fibres.
