LIFT
20210070591 · 2021-03-11 ·

A scissor lift (100) for use in a stage assembly includes a base portion (110) configured to be supported on a floor or other support surface and a top portion (120) configured to support a platform. A scissor arm assembly (130) connects the base portion (110) and the top portion, and a rigid chain lifting system (150) comprising a rigid chain (151) connecting the base portion (110) and the top portion (120). Extension and retraction of the rigid chain (151) causes the top portion (120) to rise and fall with respect to the base portion (110). The use of a rigid chain lifting system (150) means that the scissors (130) are provided for guidance rather than applying load. The scissor lift (100) can be used in conjunction with one or more passive scissors (200), couplable to the scissor lift (100).

Dynamic platform creation

A modular platform is provided and includes a platform having upper and lower surfaces. The modular platform further includes one or more propulsion units, mesh coverings, jack elements and a lock mechanism. The one or more propulsion units are embedded within the platform to generate upward thrust. The mesh coverings overlay each of the one or more propulsion units in the upper surface. The jack elements are coupled to the lower surface and support the platform above an underlying substrate. The lock mechanism connects the platform to a neighboring platform. A power storage unit is embedded in the platform and powers the one or more propulsion units, the jack elements and the lock mechanism. A control unit is embedded in the platform and controls operations of the one or more propulsion units, the jack elements and the lock mechanism.

The present invention provides an exterior wall maintenance apparatus. In certain embodiments, the exterior wall maintenance apparatus comprises a suspension means; and a suspended platform, where the suspended platform is physically coupled with the suspension means and the suspension means moves the suspended platform vertically and horizontally in parallel to an exterior wall of high rise buildings.

SPRING SYSTEMS FOR LIFTING AERIAL WORK PLATFORMS

An aerial work platform (AWP) includes a base, a retractable lifting mechanism, a platform, an actuator, and a spring. The retractable lifting mechanism has a first end rotatably coupled to the base. The platform is coupled to and supported by a second end of the retractable lifting mechanism. The actuator is pivotally coupled to the retractable lifting mechanism. The actuator has a piston received within a housing that is movable between a stowed position and a deployed position, where the piston engages and forces the retractable lifting mechanism away from the base to lift the platform away from the base. The spring biases the retractable lifting mechanism away from the base and provides a variable biasing force to the retractable lifting mechanism that increases as the piston approaches the stowed position.
