Connection apparatus, system, and methods for collapsible structures
A collapsible structure connection system and method including an apparatus having a pair of mated ferrules, at least one pivoting pin and at least one slider arm. Each ferrule couples to a rod segment of the structure, the ferrules connecting the rod segments when mated, but allowing the rod segments to rotate into a collapsed structure. The apparatus has a locking system in one example embodiment. The systems include a bracket, at and at least one locking device to fix the rod segments in a preferred configuration. An alternate apparatus and collapsible structure connection system includes a pair of mated ferrules each having a lengthwise slot, a connector arm and pivoting pins. The connector arm rotates around the pivoting pins within the slots of the ferrules, allowing the ferrules to rotate into various positions when selectively connecting and collapsing rod segments.
Mobile utility pole
A mobile pole for temporary support of one or more electrical lines includes a boom assembly mounted on a wheeled trailer. The boom assembly includes a plurality of segments pivotably attached to one another. Actuators acting between the segments effect pivoting motion to deploy and stow the segments. A utility pole having one or more cross members is mounted on a free end of one of the segments. The utility pole is rotatable about its longitudinal axis to orient the cross members relative to the electrical lines.
Stackable horizontal mast assembly
A stackable enclosure for support of a mast stored in horizontal position and rotatable to a vertically deployed position. The enclosure employs a housing have sidewalls constructed and arranged to support a plurality of stacked enclosures. The dimensions of the enclosure with wheels can allow for the transporting of thirty units on a single 48 drop deck trailer. The enclosure has a hinged lid to allow ease of access to the interior which can house a power system to operate a bank of lights. Outriggers positioned along each corner of the enclosure provide stability to the mast in high winds. A hinged axle can be used to pivot enclosure wheels upward, allowing the enclosure to rest flush on a trailer deck or ground surface.
Foundationless pole apparatus
A foundationless pole apparatus including an elongated pole shaft, a wheeled rolling weight box, a pole base connected to the pole shaft and securement structure securing the rolling weight box with the front wheels of the rolling weight box on the base to the pole base and the pole shaft.
Extendable/retractable support column
An extendable and retractable column which is formed from at least three linked sections or chains. The linked sections include a plurality of individual segments linked end to end. As the linked segments are extended, each of the individual segments of the linked chains engage individual segments of adjacent linked sections to form a column. As the linked sections are retracted, each of the individual segments of the linked sections disengage from the individual segment of the adjacent linked sections and the individual linked sections may be rolled up into a multi-sided form for compact storage.
Mechanism for lowering a pole
A mechanism for lowering a pole, such as a light pole, is disclosed. The mechanism includes a base arranged to rotate about a vertical axis of a pole portion, and an engaging portion arranged to rotate about an operating axis. The operating axis is in the order of 115 relative to the vertical axis. A pole member is fixed to an arm of the engaging portion.
ASSIST CYLINDER FOR NEGATIVE ANGLE DRILLING MAST
A mobile drilling machine may include a drilling mast having a mast frame, a movable drill motor assembly, and a pivot; a machine frame including front and back portions, an engine, a ground engaging assembly, and a coupling assembly including first and second side plates, where the mast is pivotably coupled at the pivot between the first and second side plates; at least one primary fluid cylinder coupled to the machine frame to apply a force to the mast at a position above the pivot along the mast to assist in moving the mast between a stowed position to a drilling position; and a secondary fluid cylinder coupled to the machine frame to apply a force to the mast at a position below the pivot along the mast to assist the at least one primary fluid cylinder when the mast is at a negative drilling angle.
Connection Apparatus, System, and Methods for Collapsible Structures
A collapsible structure connection system and method including an apparatus having a pair of mated ferrules or rod segments and a spring-loaded push-button locking mechanism, the spring-loaded push-button locking mechanism having a spring-loaded push-button seated on a dowel of a male ferrule or mail rod segment, and a cavity aperture traversing a dowel cavity of a female ferrule or female rod segment. Each ferrule couples to a rod segment of the structure, the ferrules connecting the rod segments when mated, but allowing the rod segments to disengage into a collapsed structure. An exemplary embodiment of the apparatus and collapsible structure connection system includes a pair of mated ferrules or rod segments, one pivoting pin and at least one slider arm. The slider arm rotates around the pivoting pins, allowing the ferrules or rod segments to rotate into various positions when selectively connecting and collapsing rod segments.
Articulated utility pole
Disclosed and described herein are embodiments of an articulated utility pole that facilitates repair and/or reinstallation in the event of damage to the pole caused by wind loading (e.g., storms), trees or other items striking the utility lines, collisions with the poles, and the like. Also disclosed herein are methods of repairing and/or re-installing the articulated utility pole. Further disclosed herein are components for fabricating an articulated utility pole.
Smart bar lock
A smart bar lock that includes a pole with a length that corresponds to a length of an area that a sliding portion of a sliding door slides along, a motorized hinge coupled to an end of the pole, where the motorized hinge is configured to rotate to the pole by the end of the pole, and a processor. The processor is configured to perform operations of determining to lock the sliding door, moving the pole from a vertical position into a horizontal position with the motorized hinge, determining to unlock the sliding door while leaving the sliding door closed, and moving the pole into the vertical position with the motorized hinge.
