Door assembly and method for making the same, and aircraft including a door assembly

Door assemblies, aircraft including door assemblies, and method for making door assemblies are provided. In one example, a door assembly includes a hinge subassembly and a door pivotally coupled to the hinge subassembly. The door has a channel disposed therein with a holding member disposed proximate a channel distal portion. A sliding member is movably disposed in the channel. An arm has a first portion pivotally coupled to a second hinge subassembly and a second portion pivotally coupled to the sliding member to move the sliding member as the door moves between a closed position and an open position. A stay member is coupled to the sliding member to move towards the holding member which holds the stay member in position when the door is moved to the open position to hold the door open.

Touchless detent lock

A touchless detent door lock is disclosed. In embodiments, the door lock includes a strike and a lock housing that defines a longitudinal cavity, where the strike can be linearly actuated within the longitudinal cavity from an unlocked position to a locked position, and vice versa. The door lock further includes at least one selector magnet coupled to or at least partially embedded within the strike and a plurality of position magnets coupled to or at least partially embedded within the lock housing. The position magnets include at least a first magnet corresponding to the unlocked position, a second magnet corresponding to the locked position, and a third magnet in between the first magnet and the second magnet. The first and second magnets are configured to attract the selector magnet, while the third magnet is configured to repel the selector magnet.

Elevator fixture magnetic slide latch and control box equipped therewith

An elevator call box with internal, concealable latching mechanism comprises an internally disposed, cylindrical magnetic pin with a relatively low pull force that is slidably displaceable by an larger, external magnetic force supplied by a service technician. When the access door is closed, magnetic pin penetrates an orifice in a locking tab to lock the call box. The pin magnet is normally attracted to an adjacent, magnetically attractive clip snap-fitted to a latching block. The latch is externally disengaged via a stronger portable magnet carried by service personnel. The larger magnetic pull force of the portable magnet slidably displaces the smaller magnetic latch pin, freeing the locking tab to permit pivotal opening of the access door. Once the stronger magnet is moved away, the smaller magnetic pin, which is attracted magnetically to the clip, will return to it's rest position penetrating the locking tab and locking the control.

Double-door lock assembly

A double-door lock assembly includes a first lock and a second lock which are mounted to a first door and a second door, respectively. The first lock includes a first rotary member, a first magnetic member and a linkage member. The second lock includes a second rotary member having a driving portion and a second magnetic member. The first and second rotary members can be driven to rotate together to open or close the first and second doors simultaneously when the first and second magnetic members are attracted to each other and the driving portion on the second rotary member contacts against the linkage member on the first rotary member.

MAGNETIC LOCKSET

An exemplary lockset includes a mortise case, a magnet assembly mounted in the mortise case, and a manual actuator operable to move the magnet assembly between a coupling position in which a first magnet of the magnet assembly is aligned with a reference point and a decoupling position in which the first magnet is misaligned with the reference point. In certain embodiments, the magnet assembly further includes a second magnet having an opposite polarity as the first magnet, and the second magnet is misaligned with the reference point when the magnet assembly is in the coupling position and is aligned with the reference point when the magnet assembly is in the decoupling position.

LOCKING DEVICE FOR WASTE CONTAINER AND METHODS

The present invention provides a locking device for a waste container that keeps the lid of the container closed when the container is knocked over on its side, as may arise from a sudden jerking or jarring motion, such as by impact with the ground, to prevent spillage of its contents. The locking device allows the lid to open automatically when the waste container is tipped over by a dumping operation. The locking device includes a sliding block slidable between a locked position and an open position, and a pendulum weight detachably attached to a magnet, when detached from the magnet, the pendulum weight blocks the sliding block from sliding to the open position. When attached to the magnet, the pendulum weight allows the sliding block to slide to the open position.

LEVER RETURN MECHANISM USING MAGNETS

A lever apparatus having a lever connected to a latch assembly operable to open the latch when rotated to a second position from a first position under an actuation torque. The apparatus further includes a magnet assembly with first and second magnets operably coupled to the lever apparatus. The magnet assembly is operable to generate a return torque in an opposite direction to that of the actuation torque such that the lever is returned to the first position after the actuation torque is removed from the lever.

Energy efficient multi-stable lock cylinder

Some embodiments include a lock cylinder comprising: a plug assembly having a front portion and a back portion; a housing shell within which the plug assembly is rotatably disposed, wherein the housing shell includes a notch; wherein the back portion of the plug assembly comprises: a locking pin that is movably disposed, and wherein the locking pin is configured to prevent a rotation of the plug assembly when the locking pin is engaged in the notch and prevented from retracting by a multi-stable mechanism; and the multi-stable mechanism having at least two stable configurations corresponding to respectively to a locked state and an unlocked state, wherein the multi-stable mechanism can maintain the stable configurations without consuming energy; wherein, at a first stable configuration, the multi-stable mechanism prevents the locking pin from retracting, and, at a second stable configuration, the multi-stable mechanism enables the locking pin to retract.
