PANEL CONFIGURABLE ACCESS DOOR
An access door may include a core, first and second stiles defined along opposites sides of the core such that the core between the first and second stiles defines a recessed pocket with each of the first and second stiles defining a channel therein extending longitudinally along an inwardly-facing edge thereof, bottom and top elongated panels each defining tongue members at opposite sides thereof and configured to be received transversely in the recessed pocket with the tongue members received within the channels defined along the inwardly-facing edges of the first and second stiles, wherein, with the top and bottom elongated panels received in the recessed pocket, exterior faces of the first and second stiles, exterior faces of the top and bottom elongated panels, and an exposed surface of the recessed pocket between the top and bottom elongated panels define an exterior surface of one side of the door.
HANDS-FREE ELECTRONIC DOOR UNLATCHING AND/OR OPENING SYSTEM
A hands-free door unlatching and opening system is provided for an access door operatively mounted to a jamb assembly of a building, the door including a handle set having a latch normally received, with the door in a closed position, within a latch pocket of a jamb of the jamb assembly to latch the door to the jamb. The system may include a plunger axially aligned with the latch pocket opposite to the latch, an actuator operatively coupled to the plunger and responsive to actuation to advance the plunger into the latch pocket to force the latch out of the latch pocket to unlatch the door from the jamb, and means for automatically opening the door following unlatching of the door from the jamb.
ACCESSORY RAIL INTEGRAL WITH OR MOUNTED TO A DOOR
An access door may include a core, stiles on opposites sides of the core, an elongated panel extending transversely between the stiles, wherein a major face of the door between the stiles defines one or more recessed pockets along a top edge of the elongated panel between and the stiles and the elongated panel, and a notch formed into the top edge of the elongated panel and extending along at least one of the recessed pockets, the notch extending downwardly into the top edge of the elongated panel so as to form a lip in the top edge of the elongated panel with the notch positioned between the lip and the one or more recessed pockets, the lip and the notch of the elongated panel together forming an accessory rail, wherein the accessory rail is configured to receive and support a complementarily configured hanger base of an accessory hanger.
Electric door strike having a dead latch release platform actuated by a spring latch keeper and a spring latch lifter feature
An actuator-controlled strike comprising a housing disposable within a doorframe and including a chamber for receiving a spring latch and a dead latch of a mortise-type lockset. A keeper is pivotably mounted within the chamber to restrain the spring latch. A pivotable spring latch lifter is positively driven by the keeper, and a pivotable dead latch release platform is supported by the keeper when the spring latch is locked within the strike. The keeper is released by the actuator and then may be rotated which causes rotation of the dead latch release platform, allowing the dead latch to enter the chamber. The keeper positively drives the spring latch lifter to lift the spring latch onto the external ramp of the strike. In an alternate embodiment, an internal ramp feature may be used instead of the spring latch lifter to positively lift the spring latch out of the chamber.
Electric strike with selectable channel location
An electric strike system including a housing, a keeper, an actuator, and a plurality of ramp members. The keeper is pivotally mounted to the housing, and is pivotable about a longitudinal axis between a closed position and an open position. The actuator is operable to selectively retain the keeper in the closed position. Each ramp member is operable to be mounted to the housing and includes a corresponding and respective channel. The plurality of ramp members includes a first ramp member and a second ramp member. With the first ramp member mounted to the housing, the channel of the first ramp member has a first longitudinal position relative to the housing. With the second ramp member mounted to the housing, the channel of the second ramp member has a second longitudinal position relative to the housing. The second longitudinal position is different from the first longitudinal position.
Modularized electric latch control device
A modularized electric latch control device includes a mounting seat and a locking cap device pivotably mounted to the mounting seat and pivotable relative to the mounting seat between a closure position and a non-closure position. Optionally mounted to the electric latch control device are a stopper, a closure member, a locking latch restraining frame, a first escutcheon, and a second escutcheon. The electric latch control device is selectively assembled into a first mode (including the first escutcheon), a second mode (including the closure member, the stopper, and the second escutcheon), or a third mode (including the locking latch restraining frame, the stopper, and the second escutcheon) for cooperating with a cylindrical latch device, a first box type latch device, or a second box type latch device.
Door lock device
A door lock device is worked in cooperate with a latch bolt, and includes a solenoid device engaged in a housing, a catch member pivotally attached to the housing with a spindle, two arms connected between the catch member and the spindle, and the solenoid device includes a shaft slidably engaged in a receptacle, and the shaft includes an upper end portion extendible upwardly beyond the receptacle and a lower end portion extendible downwardly beyond the receptacle, and the solenoid device includes two anchors on the upper end portion for selectively engaging with the upper arm, and two stops on the lower end portion for selectively engaging with the lower arm of the latch device, and for allowing the catch member to be evenly engaged with the latch bolt.
Door latch assembly and method of using a door latch assembly
A door latch assembly, includes: a catch support assembly, the catch support assembly including a strike body having a pin receiving aperture therein; a catch arm assembly rotatably mounted to the catch support assembly; a latch pin positioned in the pin receiving aperture and movable between a retracted position and an extended position, the latch pin protruding above the strike body in the extended position to impede rotational movement of the catch arm assembly; and a first roller mounted to the catch arm assembly and configured to engage a first side of the latch pin in the extended position; and a second roller mounted to the catch support assembly and configured to engage a second side of the latch pin in the extended position. The latch pin includes a material having a hardness of 60 Rockwell C or more, the first roller includes a material having a hardness of 33 Rockwell C or less, and the second roller includes a material having a hardness of 60 Rockwell C or more.
Electric latch control device
An electric latch control device includes a mounting member having an engaging end and a locking member pivotably mounted to the mounting member. A positioning member is pivotably connected to the mounting member and is engageable with the engaging end. A restraining member is engageable with and actuatable by a driving device securely mounted to the mounting member. When the restraining member is in a stopping position preventing pivotal movement of the locking member, the locking member is restrained by the restraining member, and a latch of a door lock is restrained in an opening of the electric latch control device. When the restraining member is in a non-stopping position not preventing pivotal movement of the locking member, the locking member is pivotable from a locking position to an unlocking position to thereby permit disengagement of the latch of the door lock from the opening.
ELECTRIC STRIKE INCLUDING A BIASING MECHANISM FOR A KEEPER SUPPORT BRACKET
An actuator controlled electric strike for operating in conjunction with a latch of a lockset. The strike comprises a keeper support bracket movable between blocking and unblocking positions. When the bracket is in the blocking position a keeper is held in a locked position, and when the bracket is in the unblocking position the keeper is movable to the unlocked position. A motor is operatively connected to the bracket and is actionable in first and second directions to move the bracket between the blocking and unblocking positions. A biasing member comprises first and second springs that apply a net force to the bracket. The first spring applies a first force to the bracket in the first direction, and the second spring applies a second force to the bracket in the second direction. When the bracket is in the blocking position, the net force of the biasing member is approximately zero.
