The present invention relates to an anti-barricade door handle assembly which comprises an integrated auxiliary door handle for use in an emergency. The auxiliary door handle can be configured between a stowed configuration and an activated configuration. The auxiliary door handle is operable to operate a lock when in the activated configuration and inoperable when in the stowed configuration. The auxiliary door handle can only be configured to the activated configuration by an authorized user. The auxiliary door handle is configured to override a primary door handle which operates the lock in normal, non-emergency use.

A lock for a door including a configurable lock function. The lock includes a removable and user accessible actuator which when removed from the lock disables a lock function, and when inserted into the lock enables the lock function. Removal of the actuator places the lock in a disabled condition in which the lock cannot be locked by other means. One example embodiment is an armored vehicle door quick-release mechanism includes a handle, a slide lock latch, and an actuator mechanism. The handle is coupled to the slide lock latch. The movement of the handle in a first direction causes the slide lock latch to move in a first direction to a first position so that the slide lock latch is adapted to attach the vehicle door to the actuator mechanism adapted to open and close the vehicle door. A movement of the handle in a second direction causes that slide lock latch to move in a second direction to a second position to detach the vehicle door from the actuator mechanism.

The gear assembly can include a cam, a pinion gear, and a pinion. The pinion gear can include a plurality of teeth disposed along only a portion of a perimeter of the pinion gear. The pinion gear can be configured to engage the pinion. The pinion can be configured to translate laterally to release a biasing member to unlock a door of a container.

A privacy lock assembly and method of operation are provided. The lock assembly has a push button offset from the central axis of the lock assembly for locking and unlocking the assembly. The lock assembly includes compression springs to maintain integrated handles in predetermined orientations when the handles are not subject to a load.
