Lock for a flap or door

The invention relates to a lock for a door or flap, comprising a locking mechanism that consists of a rotary latch (1) and at least one pawl (2) for locking the rotary latch (1), the rotary latch (1) when in the detent position preferably initiating an opening moment in the pawl (2). The design of the rotary latch (1) is such that said latch is deformed under excessive stress in the locked state in such a way that an engagement between the pawl (2) and the rotary latch (1) is maintained or increases. A lock of this type will not open even under excessive stress.

A door latch jamming assembly includes a vehicle door assembly having an outer door panel, a latch mechanism and a jamming mechanism. The latch mechanism has a member movable between a door closed orientation and a door open orientation. The latch mechanism is installed to the vehicle door assembly inboard of the outer door panel. The jamming mechanism is installed to the latch mechanism. The jamming mechanism has a jamming member and an end portion coupled to the jamming member. The end portion extends away from the latch mechanism toward the outer door panel. In response to an impact event impacting forces press the outer door panel against the end portion pushing the end portion toward the latch mechanism. Consequently, the jamming member is also moved by the end portion into the latch mechanism preventing the member of the latch mechanism from moving away from the door closed orientation.

MOTOR VEHICLE DOOR

A motor vehicle door equipped with a motor vehicle door lock, as well as with at least one first electromotive drive for the motor vehicle door lock, and with an emergency electrical power source for the first drive. According to the invention, the emergency power source is arranged in a component required for operation, for attaching in or to a door leaf.

Powered vehicle door latch and exterior handle with sensor

A vehicle door includes a powered latch configured to selectively retain the door in a closed position when the powered latch is latched, and permits the door to be opened when the powered latch is unlatched. The vehicle door further includes an exterior door handle having an outer side that faces away from the door structure, and an inner side that is spaced apart from an outer surface of the door to define a gap. A force sensor on the exterior door handle detects impact forces on the handle. The door also includes an unlatch switch that can be actuated by a user to request unlatching of the powered latch. A controller is configured to deny an unlatch request generated by actuation of the unlatch switch if the force sensor detects an impact on the exterior handle.

LOCK FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE DOOR LEAF

A lock (1) for a motor vehicle door, comprising:—an assembly of control means (7), each control means being mobile;—an assembly of opening levers (10A, 10B) of said door (2), each lever (10A, 10B) being intended to enable the opening of the door (2) by a control means (7) of the control means assembly, each lever (10A, 10B) comprising a cam (11A, 11B) which can rotate about an axis of rotation (8) and is fixed to said control means (7) in a fixation region (9) so as to be rotated during a movement of the control means (7);—a blocking means (12) configured to take an active blocking position, in which said blocking means (12) blocks an opening lever (10A), and a rest position in which said blocking means (12) authorises the movement of each opening lever (10A, 10B),—a spring-back blocking means (14) configured to switch said blocking means (12) from the rest position to the active blocking position, and—a trigger means (16) configured to take a rest position in which said trigger means (16) blocks the blocking means (12) in the rest position thereof and an active unblocking position in which said trigger (16) releases said blocking means (12) so that said blocking means switches from the rest position to the active blocking position,—the blocking means (12) and one opening lever (10B) not blocked by the blocking means in the blocking position (10) interacting so as to convey the blocking means (12) from the active blocking position to the rest position when said non-blocked opening lever (10B) pivots in the opening direction of the door (2).

VEHICLE SIDE PORTION STRUCTURE

The present invention provides a vehicle side portion structure including: front and rear side doors provided at a side portion of a vehicle that does not have a center pillar; a lock member provided at at least one side door among the front and rear side doors, the lock member being disposed at a vehicle vertical direction lower portion of the one side door on another side door side thereof and, when the one side door is closed, engaging with the other side door or the vehicle body to thereby lock the one side door; and a reinforcement member provided inside the one side door at the vehicle vertical direction lower portion thereof, with at least part of the reinforcement member being disposed on an upper side of the lock member so that the lock member is surrounded by the reinforcement member and a peripheral edge portion of the one side door as seen in a vehicle side view.
