DOOR SEALING AND TIMING MECHANISM FOR USE IN COACH DOOR CONFIGURATION FOR A VEHICLE

A vehicle includes a body having an uninterrupted side aperture that provides access to an interior passenger cabin. A front door is hingedly attached at a forward edge of the uninterrupted side aperture. The front door is selectively operable between front open and front closed positions. A rear door is hingedly attached at a rearward edge of the uninterrupted side aperture. The rear door is selectively operable between rear open and rear closed positions. A latching assembly is at least partially positioned within the body and configured to receive the front door in the front closed position and the rear door in the rear closed position. A sealing assembly is defined between a forward seal of the rear door and a rearward seal of the front door. The forward and rearward seals engage one another in a fully-closed position.

Motor vehicle lock

A motor vehicle lock has a pawl and a catch that may be moved into an open position, a preliminary latching position and a main latching position. In one of the latching positions, the catch is or may be brought into holding engagement with a lock striker. In the installed state, during a cinching routine, the catch is moved into its main latching position by a cinching drive. A spring biased freewheel mechanism, which is limited to a freewheel distance, is provided between the cinching drive and the catch. With the reaction force of the catch exceeding a predefined level, the cinching drive freewheels with respect to the catch against the spring bias of the freewheel mechanism, until the freewheel distance is reached and the freewheel mechanism is interlocked for force transmission.

A motor vehicle door includes a door handle unit fixed on the inside on the door edge opposite a door hinge. In the folded-out position, the door handle unit protrudes laterally outwards by surrounding the door edge and is grippable to open the door. A door mover unit is configured to move the vehicle door in a closed state out of a closed position into a stand-by position, in which the door handle unit can be moved from the folded-in position into the folded-out position. A control unit has a signal input which, upon obtaining the opening signal, controls the door mover unit to move into the stand-by position and controls the door handle unit to pivot into the folded-out position.
