A dual-contact electro-permanent magnet (EPM) assembly of an information handling system may comprise a plurality of high-coercivity magnets situated on opposite ends of a low-coercivity magnet, a first EPM magnetic contact disposed between a first of the plurality of high-coercivity magnets and the low-coercivity magnet, and a second EPM magnetic contact disposed between a second of the plurality of high-coercivity magnets and the low-coercivity magnet. The low-coercivity magnet polarity may correlate to a direction of current pulse applied to an electrically conductive wire coiled around the low-coercivity magnet, and dependent upon the low-coercivity magnet polarity, the first EPM magnetic contact is capable of operating in an attractive magnetic state to attract a ferromagnetic contact of a peripheral device while the second EPM magnetic contact is magnetically neutral with respect to the ferromagnetic contact.

Systems and methods for monitoring door opening events

A method to automatically audit the number of units within an enclosure having at least one door including receiving from a remote telemetry device data indicating the number of times within a predetermined period of time a door has been opened to a predetermined open position relative to the enclosure, the predetermined open position of the door being specifically calibrated by a sensor device being mechanically set when the sensor device is installed on the enclosure proximal to the door as a position of the door between a closed position and a more fully opened position beyond the predetermined open position, to generate a door opening count, the remote telemetry device includes a sensor configured to be adjustably calibrated to sense when the door is at the predetermined open position relative to the enclosure based upon the adjustable calibration, to generate the door opening count.

ACTIVE AIR FLAP

Magnetic lock with resilient abutting member for eliminating remanence
11377888 · 2022-07-05 · ·

A remanence-eliminating magnetic lock includes a housing, an electromagnetic body and a resilient abutting member. The electromagnetic body can be assembled into the housing and receive externally-supplied electricity to generate a magnetic attraction force on a top surface thereof. The resilient abutting member has a fixing end to be fixed within the housing or the electromagnetic body, and an abutting end exposed from the housing or the top surface of the electromagnetic body. A peak of the abutting end is higher than the top surface of the electromagnetic body. When a metal member is magnetically attached to the top surface of the electromagnetic body, the metal member pressures the abutting end to deform. When the supply of electricity to the magnetic lock is cut off, the abutting end pushes the metal member through a restoring force thereof to move the metal member away from the electromagnetic body to eliminate remanence.

Ballistic security barrier system

A stand-alone, single-layer, auxiliary ballistic security barrier system configured to be installed over existing doors. The ballistic security barrier system provides protection against an active shooter with weapons, including handguns and high-powered rifles. The ballistic security barrier system includes a frame fixed to a wall with an anchor system and having structural tubing, mounting angle, and a locking system located inside the structural tubing. Further, the system includes a barrier pivotably attached to the frame and made out of material suitable to withstand impact from a high velocity rifle. The barrier is held in a first stowed position by a release apparatus, and in a second closed position by a lock.

BOOTH

A booth includes: a booth body; a door that is openable and closable and that includes first and second end portions located at different positions in a widthwise direction of the door, a user-operable portion to be touched by a user to open and close the door being provided in the first end portion; and a door lock that is used for locking the door, the door being locked under control of current supply to the door lock. A portion of the door other than the first end portion is secured to the booth body by the door lock.

Vehicle storage assembly having residual magnetic latching mechanism

A vehicle storage assembly of the vehicle is provided. The vehicle storage assembly if the vehicle includes a storage compartment comprising an opening to permit access to the compartment, a door proximate the opening and movable between an open position and a closed position, a latching mechanism comprising a residual magnet for latching a door in the closed position in a first magnetic state and for releasing the door to open to the open position in a second magnetic state, and a proximity switch for activating the latching mechanism to allow the door to move to the open position.

REDUCED POWER CONSUMPTION ELECTROMAGNETIC LOCK

An energizable electromagnet of a door locking system is affixed to the door or the door frame for electromagnetically attracting an armature affixed to the other. A power control circuit is configured to selectively energize the electromagnet using a pulse-width modulated current cycle wherein two levels of magnetic force may be selectively applied to the system. A door position sensor is configured to provide a first communication signal to the power control circuit when the door is in a closed position. A second communication signal is provided when the door is not in the closed position. The electromagnet is energized at the lower level of magnetic force when the power control circuit receives the first communication signal and at the higher level of magnetic force only when an unauthorized attempt to open the door is initiated.
