Negative pressure wound closure devices and methods
Systems, devices, and methods of the present application can accelerate and reduce medical complications associated with healing of non-planar wounds such as amputation wounds. The devices and methods utilize a collapsing structure and negative pressure to cause the shaped wound to preferentially close. The structure can accommodate movement over curved tissue surfaces, which can utilize scales or interleaved elements to provide efficient wound closure along arcuate paths. This structure can enable gradual closure from the deepest portion of the wound to the shallowest portion.

Measurement method for properties of particulate absorbent agent, and particulate absorbent agent
Provided are a water-absorbing resin having more excellent balance of fluid retention capacity, liquid permeability, and low dustiness and a novel measurement method which enables evaluation of excellent physical properties of the water-absorbing resin. A method for measuring an absorption speed of a particulate water-absorbing agent is a method including the step of applying pressure to a portion of a bottom surface of a measurement container (51) by use of a flat plate (52) in a state in which part or whole of the particulate water-absorbing agent (56) is fixed on the bottom surface of the measurement container (51), the bottom surface being surrounded by a frame, introducing an aqueous solution through a liquid injection inlet (54) with which the flat plate (52) is equipped, and then measuring the amount of time elapsed until an end of absorption of the introduced aqueous solution by the particulate water-absorbing agent (56).
A HYGIENIC ABSORBENT ARTICLE COMPRISING A FASTENING MEMBER
A fastening member for a hygienic absorbent article, such as a diaper, the fastening member including a water-soluble resin, wherein the water-soluble resin dissolves in an aqueous solution having a temperature equal to or above 40 degrees Celsius, wherein the fastening member is disintegrated and/or dissolved at a temperature equal to or above 40 degrees Celsius. A hygienic absorbent article including the fastening member, a method for treating the hygienic absorbent article and/or use of the fastening member for providing a hygienic absorbent article or recyclable disposal bag.
WOUND DRESSING ARTICLES AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
The present invention provides a medical dressing article and a method of manufacturing the same, which comprises: (a) a first layer comprised of polycaprocaptone fibers having a PCL fiber diameter of 0.5 μm and 2.9 μm; (b) a second layer, deposited directly on the first layer, including a mixture of polycaprolactone and poloxamer fibers (PCL and POX fibers) wherein a PCL and POX fiber diameter is between 0.1 μm and 4 μm; and (c) a third layer, deposited directly on the second layer, further comprising a mixture of gelatin and silver nitrate (AgNO.sub.3).
Hygiene adhesives comprising low volatile tackifier compositions
A tackifier composition comprising at least one thermoplastic hydrocarbon resin and an antioxidant composition is provided; wherein a portion of the volatile organic compounds in the thermoplastic hydrocarbon resin has been removed; wherein the antioxidant composition comprises at least one primary antioxidant and at least one secondary antioxidant; and wherein the levels of individual volatile organic compound monitored in the tackifier composition are less than about 0.5 ppm as measured by GC/MS headspace analysis. Processes for producing the tackifier composition are also provided as well as adhesives comprising the tackifier compositions.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH AN EMBOSSED WAXED BARRIER
The present disclosure presents a stain reduction improvement of a disposable absorbent article by applying a hydrophobic barrier formulation to a topsheet and/or absorbent core area of the article and thereafter embossing the treated area with heat and pressure. A barrier is thus created wherein the barrier is along the full length of the embossment.
PARTICULATE WATER-ABSORBENT RESIN COMPOSITION
Disclosed is a particulate water-absorbent resin composition containing at least one selected from the group consisting of a microporous inorganic material, silver, and a silver compound, and a polymer particle, in which the polymer particle contains an inorganic reducing agent.
