A movement control device is provided comprising a housing (11) with an elongate push rod (10) mounted therein for reciprocal movement along a longitudinal axis (x). One end of the push rod extends out of the housing. A spring (12) is arranged between the housing and the push rod to provide a biasing force on the push rod in a first direction parallel to the longitudinal axis. A damping device (15) is arranged between the housing and the push rod to provide a damped resistive force in a direction opposite to said first direction. An indexing mechanism (18) controls movement of the push rod relative to the housing. The damping device is arranged to act along an axis (y) that is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the push rod and spaced apart from it.

The device further comprises two damper stops (24), each consisting of a piston (26), a coil spring (28) overlapping one another and a pivoting slider (38). The two damper stops (24) are opposite and fixed along the base (22) of the profile (12) misaligned with each other; the pivoting slider (38) which such stops are fitted with, are provided with and abutted by an appendage (56) and (58) projecting from the support (40) and defining an actuator.

The closure panel selectively covers at least a portion of the access aperture. The closure panel is movable between an open position and a dosed position relative to the access aperture. The load ramp is deployably coupled to the closure panel. The load ramp includes a coupled end and a free end. The load ramp is movable between a retracted position and an extended position. The moisture sensor is positioned proximate to the free end of the load ramp. Methods of controlling the vehicle are also disclosed.

An evaluation device distinguishes between normal and safety cases based on the detection of a status for the door, identifies the safety case if the number of uninterrupted receiving elements between door edge and object falls below a critical number, and identifies the normal case if the safety case is not identified. A communication device outputs a signal for the status. The evaluation device determines a distance value corresponding to the number of uninterrupted receiver elements below the door edge up to the first interrupted element, and the communication device varies the frequency as a function of the distance value.
