Closure fire rated frame extrusion component and a method of making the same
An extrusion component of a closure frame for defining an opening which is closable by a closure member and a method of making the same. The extrusion component comprises an elongate body having first and second sides, at least one of which is shaped for accommodating said closure member. The elongate body includes an outer layer integrally formed with an inner layer and the inner layer has an outer surface correspondingly shaped by or with an inner surface of the outer layer.
Adjustable garage door pest barrier
An adjustable barrier for use with a building having a door frame with a door frame opening, a track assembly, and a garage door positioned between the track assembly to selectively cover the door frame opening, the adjustable barrier comprising a barrier bracket and an extendable barrier panel. The adjustable barrier is adapted to seal off a garage door gap located between the garage door and the door frame, and is positioned between the door frame and the track to create a barrier preventing a pest from bypassing the garage door and entering the building through the garage door gap. The extendable barrier panel selectively extends and retracts to adjust to the distance between the track and the door frame, and may further be tapered to allow the adjustable barrier to maintain contact with the track when the track curves away from the door frame.
Adjustable frame with a thermal break seal
A frame may include three or more portions having an upper portion disposed adjacent an upper end of an opening and two side portions disposed along either edge of the opening, and in some cases a lower portion when the opening is for a window or some doors. A first frame segment and the second frame segment are adjustable with respect to each other in order to extend around the thickness of the door opening. The segments may have one or more thermal barriers, such as a seal (e.g., u-shaped, v-shaped, or the like seal) located between portions of the segments. The first frame segment may be adjusted with respect to the second frame segment. The adjustment of the segments may be made before or after the one or more thermal barriers are installed.
Door assembly
A door assembly and a frame member for a door assembly. The door assembly may include at least one door panel and a door frame having a plurality of frame members including a header and a pair of side jambs. The invention may also be considered a frame member including a storage compartment. The frame member may include a core; and a top piece adjoining the core to form a structural member. The core and the top piece may be a composite of cellulosic material and at least one other material. The top piece may be a two-piece top piece and may include hollow cavities. Also disclosed are door jamb frame members and mullion frame members.
Window jamb extender for new or replacement window
A window jamb extender includes a frame including: (i) a first leg including opposite inner and outer ends; and, (ii) a second leg connected to the outer end of the first leg and arranged transversely relative to the first leg. The first leg includes an outer face adapted to be abutted with an associated wall stud that partially defines a periphery of an opening in an associated wall structure. The first leg includes an inner face that is opposite the outer face and that is adapted to lie adjacent an outer peripheral wall of an associated window frame. The second leg includes an inner face adapted to lie adjacent an exterior face of the associated window frame. The window jamb extender further includes a J-channel portion including: (i) a primary flange that projects outwardly from the outer face of said first leg; and, (ii) a secondary flange that projects outwardly from the outer face of said first leg, wherein the secondary flange is spaced-apart from the primary flange.
Vinyl jamb system
A plastic cladding for a wooden frame for a building opening, the wooden frame having at least a top frame component, and respective side frame components on opposite sides of the opening, and having a plurality of cladding components, which can be selectively and separately attached to the wooden frame components, including: an interior cladding component, an exterior cladding component, an interior rectangular channel extending along an edge of the interior cladding component, and an exterior rectangular channel extending along an edge of the exterior cladding component.
Connector system, apparatus and methods for a door frame assembly
A system, device, assembly and methods for a frame assembly, including a connector as shown and described. The assembly may be a door frame assembly and may, by way of example, be a door jamb and/or a door mullion including a connector. A connector may provide stability to the assembly.
Trim structure for a door
A trim structure intended on one hand to receive a door, in particular an internal door, and on the other hand to be joined to a partition. The structure includes two lateral walls facing one another and spaced apart by a thickness. The thickness being adjusted with respect to the thickness of the partition such that the lateral walls form an external surface that is flush with the external surface of the partition when the structure is joined to the partition. A transverse end wall connects the two lateral walls. The transverse end wall includes a planar surface that is configured to butt up against the thickness of a vertical edge face of the door and a projecting element forming a bearing surface for the door. The walls being formed from at least one composite panel, the panel comprising a central layer sandwiched between two facing layers.
Door frame comprising a frame and a wall clamp attached thereto
A door frame 1 has a frame post 3 which is secured with a rear side 5 against a reveal 7 of a wall opening 9 by means of a number of wall clamps 13. Each wall clamp 13 has two clamping parts 15, 17, each consisting of a fastening part 19, 21 and a clamping jaw 23, 25. At the rear 5, the frame post 3 is provided with a groove 27 which extends over the entire length of the frame post 3 and is present at an angle 29 of 10-50 degrees to the rear side. The fastening part 21 of the clamping part 17 partly protrudes into the groove 27 and is displaceable in and out of the groove 27 by turning screws 31 more or less in the door frame 3, which screws protrude through holes 35 present in the clamping jaw 25.
