A sound damping door system having a door frame, a compression seal, a door slab, a bottom seal, and a concealed hinge assembly. The door frame includes male and female components adapted to engage each other in a rough door opening between first and second wall faces; and at least one isolation gasket adapted to be disposed between the male and female components. The compression seal is mounted to the door frame. The door slab includes an outer skin; an arched constrainment sheet inside the outer skin; a damping fill material inside the outer skin; and an acoustic insert inside the outer skin. The bottom seal is mounted to a bottom surface of the door slab such that the bottom seal is permitted to move relative to the door slab.

Nickel-aluminum blocker film controlled transmission coating

The invention provides a glazing sheet and a low-emissivity coating on the glazing sheet. The low-emissivity coating comprises, in sequence moving outwardly from the glazing sheet, a layer comprising oxide film, nitride film, or oxynitride film, an infrared-reflective layer, a nickel-aluminum blocker layer, and an oxide layer. Also provided are methods of depositing such a low-emissivity coating.

Systems and methods for pressing a door assembly involve one or more die sections installed in a press, wherein the die sections each have a raised section that contacts and supports a recessed panel portion of a door skin of the assembly during the pressing operation to facilitate crushing of portions of a core of the door assembly that underlie the recessed panel portion of the door skin. The die sections may be made of plastic and readily changed out for different sizes or styles of doors.

END CAP ARRANGEMENTS FOR COMPOSITE DOOR ASSEMBLY

A Dutch door assembly includes first and second door sections, each including a composite door member and an end cap. The composite door member includes a core member disposed between first and second end stiles, together defining a front door surface, a rear door surface, and an end surface, a front door skin secured to and substantially covering the front door surface, and a rear door skin secured to and substantially covering the rear door surface. The end cap includes a cover portion covering the end surface of the composite door member and a retention portion extending from the cover portion into engagement with the core member. The end cap of the first door section includes an abutment portion contoured to engage an abutment portion of the end cap of the second door section when the first and second door sections are in pivoted alignment.

WELDED STEEL DOOR
20200032574 · 2020-01-30 · ·

A welded steel door including a pan having a bottom surface forming a first face of the door and flanges extending on opposite edges thereof forming opposite side edges of the door, the flanges having a lid engaging surface spaced from the bottom surface, a lid having a top surface forming a second face of the door opposite the first face, opposite edges of the top surface each having a hem mated with a respective lid engaging surface of each flange, the hem including a portion of the top surface folded back on itself, and a plurality of welds securing the lid to the pan. The welds extend between the portion of the top surface of the lid folded back on itself of each hem and the respective lid engaging surface of each flange and are thereby concealed.

MODULAR DOORS

Modular doors are disclosed. A disclosed example apparatus includes a door frame for insertion into a door opening of a support structure. The door frame includes a first side member to be parallel with a plane of the door opening when the door frame is inserted into the door opening, and a second side member angled from the first side member at a bend. The second side member has a first side to face the support structure when the door frame is inserted into the door opening. The second side member has a second side opposite the first side to face the door opening when the door frame is inserted into the door opening.

SHOCK INSULATING DOOR SYSTEM AND METHOD
20240035332 · 2024-02-01 ·

A door system includes a door having a frame forming at least a portion of a perimeter of the door and a sleeve configured to encase at least a portion of the frame. The frame is constructed from a first material and the sleeve is constructed from a different second material. The first material may be electrically conductive and the second material may be electrically insulating. Alternatively or additionally, the first material may be susceptible to wear and tear and the sleeve may be resilient and replaceable.

Door with interior protective coating

An exemplary door has a hollow interior, and includes a first panel and a second panel that are secured to one another such that a gap is formed therebetween. Each panel has an interior side that faces the hollow interior and an exterior side that is exposed to view. The door further includes a protective coating system that is disposed on the interior side of at least one of the panels. The coating is formed of a two-part elastomeric composition, such as a two-part elastomeric polyurethane composition or a two-part elastomeric polyurea composition. The coating improves the thermal, acoustic, and/or ballistic performance characteristics of the door.
