DEVICE AND METHOD FOR REDUCING THE DAZZLE EFFECT IN A ROOM OF A BUILDING
20170363897 · 2017-12-21 ·

A device comprising a dimmable panel comprising a plurality of individually dimmable cells attached to a window glass, an optical sensor to detect an image of one or more objects, a computation unit, communicably coupled to the dimmable panel and the optical sensor, to: i) cause to darken one or more cells of the plurality of individual dimmable cells of the dimmable panel, ii) cause the optical sensor to capture an image of the one or more objects, and, iii) determine, based on the image, whether a shadow is cast on the one or more objects due to the one or more darkened cells.

APPARATUS FOR SUPPORTING BLIND ROLLERS
20170362892 · 2017-12-21 · ·

An apparatus supports two blind rollers from a headrail in one of at least eight configurations. Each blind roller has a first end coupled to a first blind control mechanism and a second end coupled to a second blind control mechanism. The apparatus includes a bracket having a top flange for coupling the bracket to an end of the headrail. An inner face of the bracket has an upper engagement projection configured to secure at least one of: the first blind control mechanism for the upper blind roller in one of two mechanism orientations, and the second blind control mechanism for the upper blind roller. The inner face also has at least two lower engagement recesses, each configured to receive a lower engagement connector, the projection configured to secure at least one of the first blind control mechanism and the second blind control mechanism for the lower blind roller.

Feature for inhibiting light stripe between cellular elements in a covering for an architectural opening
11674350 · 2023-06-13 · ·

A covering for an architectural opening. The covering includes a cellular panel having at least two cellular units or rows. The covering also includes a light absorbing element positioned at an interface between the at least two cellular units. The first light absorbing element may absorb substantially all visible light wavelengths.

Collapsible vane structure and related method for a shade for an architectural opening

A base structure and associated method for converting the base structure into an operable vane on a shade for an architectural opening. The base structure includes a back sheet and a front sheet attached together in engagement regions spaced along the length of the back sheet and front sheet. The front sheet is separated into front strip sections having a free end. Operating elements are positioned along the back sheet and situated so as to move relative thereto. The operating elements are attached adjacent to a free end of the front strip. Movement of the operating elements actuates the free end of the front strip to move from a closed position to an open position as desired by the user.

INSULATED GLAZING UNITS AND MICROOPTICAL LAYER COMPRISING MICROSTRUCTURED DIFFUSER AND METHODS

Transfer tapes and methods of making transfer tapes are described. In one aspect, the transfer tape comprises a template layer having a structured surface; a backfill layer disposed on at least a portion of the template layer, the backfill layer having a microstructured surface opposite the structured surface; and a layer disposed adjacent the microstructured surface, wherein the layer disposed adjacent the microstructured surface has a refractive index that differs from the backfill layer. The microstructured surface together with the adjacent layer functions as a diffusive layer, or in other words a diffusive interface. Also described are microoptical glazing and methods of making microoptical glazing as well as insulated glazing units and methods of making insulated glazing units.

DAYLIGHTING DEVICE AND DAYLIGHTING SYSTEM

A daylighting device according to one aspect of the present invention includes a daylighting member including a first substrate having light transparency and a plurality of daylighting units having light transparency which are provided on a first surface of the first substrate, in which the daylighting unit has a reflective surface which reflects light incident to the daylighting unit, the light which is reflected on the reflective surface and emitted from a second surface of the first substrate has characteristics that the light proceeds toward a space on the same side as the side where the light is incident to the reflective surface among two spaces divided with a virtual plane as a boundary which is vertical to the second surface of the first substrate and parallel to an extension direction of the daylighting unit, and the daylighting member exhibits light absorption characteristics for absorbing a part of the light incident to the plurality of daylighting units.

DAYLIGHTING APPARATUS

A daylighting apparatus of the present invention includes: a daylighting sheet (13) that has first and second surfaces opposite to each other and that lets light in through the first surface and lets the light out through the second surface at a predetermined distribution of angles; and a visible light-reflecting sheet (15) that reflects part of visible light falling on the first surface of the daylighting sheet (13).

METHODS AND STRUCTURES FOR LIGHT REGULATING COATINGS

The present disclosure describes various embodiments of a structure for a composite light regulating film, methods of using the composite light regulating film, and for methods of making a composite light regulating film.

Fabric having a backing material for a covering for an architectural opening

An architectural covering with an operable vane having a fabric backing is provided. The vane may include a vane fabric and a backing material connected to the vane fabric by a layer of adhesive. The backing material may increase a machine-direction stiffness of the vane while slightly affecting a cross-direction stiffness of the vane. As such, the vane may have increased stiffness in its machine direction while simultaneously remaining flexible in its cross direction.
