Covering for an architectural opening
09739089 · 2017-08-22 · ·

A covering for an architectural opening is provided. The covering may include a roller, a shade, and an assembly associated with the roller. The assembly may include a biasing element and a retention element. The biasing element may be operably associated with the roller to selectively rotate the roller. The biasing element may be preloaded. The retention element may be associated with the biasing element. The retention element may be operable to release the preload in the biasing element at an extended shade position.

A blind control for a window covering having a narrow profile; and particularly relates to a control module for a window shade where the location of the drive mechanism is selected to minimize the gap between the end of the window shade and inside edge of a window opening; locating the drive mechanism in a shell disposed in a housing to rigidify a reduced thickness of the drive so as to minimize the gap; and use a single rod depending from the control module to activate the drive mechanism in a safe and secure manner. The invention also includes a housing with an end wall adjacent one end of the shade; a clutch projecting from said end wall and rotatable about a clutch axis, a drive gear engageable at one end of the clutch for rotatably driving said clutch and shade, said drive gear disposed in said housing adjacent said end wall; and a wand for driving said drive gear. The invention provides for a wand to raise and lower the window shade.

Roller Blind Clutch Cover With Adjustable Chain Guide
20170226798 · 2017-08-10 ·

A clutch cover for a roller blind clutch. The clutch cover comprises a clutch barrel portion mounted upon and extending outwardly from a first side of a backing plate, a cover ring and one or more indexing locators to fix the position of the cover ring relative to the backing plate when the cover ring is releasably secured about the backing plate. The cover ring includes a chain guide and is releasably securable about the backing plate such that the cover ring encompasses the backing plate. The indexing locators prevent relative rotational movement between the cover ring and the backing plate when the cover ring is releasably secured about the backing plate. The indexing locators permit the chain guide to be positioned at a plurality of angles relative to the backing plate.

Pull cord arrangement

The invention refers to a pull cord arrangement for a roller blind or a venetian blind, comprising a winding element (4) arranged to be connected to a blind (6) such that the blind (6) is released or wound in response to a rotational movement of the winding element (4) about a rotational axis; a connecting element (28) coupled to the winding element (4) to rotate together with the winding element (4); and a pull cord (50) engaging the connecting element (28) so as to control the rotation of the connecting element (28) and thus the winding element (4) as the pull cord (50) is operated.

ROLL-UP WINDOW COVERING HAVING AN ADJUSTABLE LOWER ELEMENT TO FACILITATE CORDLESS HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
20170218702 · 2017-08-03 ·

A window covering can be configured to facilitate height adjustment of window covering material. In some embodiments, a handle or clips may be utilized to help maintain the position of the window covering material so that the use of an operator cord and/or exposed lift cords can be avoided or minimized.

Manual window treatment having a floating chain tensioner

A manual drive assembly for a manually-operated window treatment based on a drive chain formed as a loop, may incorporate one or more intermediate tensioners disposed between two ends of the loop. The loop may be formed between a manual clutch mechanism coupled to the window treatment and an end tensioner. The one or more intermediate tensioners may serve to limit slack in the loop such that sides of the loop cannot be pulled to create a large loop, for example, having a gap of four inches or greater, between the hanging sides of the cord.
