A gate is provided and includes a gate body, a hinge assembly attached to a first side of the gate body, and a support bracket. The hinge assembly includes a pin assembly and an actuating assembly capable of moving a pin of the pin assembly between a retracted position and an extended position. The support bracket engages the pin in the extended position and is disengaged from the pin in the retracted position. The gate body has an axis of rotation extending through the pin when the pin engages the support bracket and is freely movable with respect to the support bracket when the pin is disengaged from the support bracket.

Gate having four pins and stairway post adapter
10689902 · 2020-06-23 ·

A gate apparatus that includes a gate, an elongate member or gate base for the ends of the gate, and a stairway post adapter such that a wooden stairway post can serve as a base for a gate without harming the wood of the stairway post. The stairway post adapter includes a vertical or longitudinally running channel for receiving the gate base, a horizontally or laterally extending channel for receiving a strap, and a recess or receptor or face for confronting a section of a stairway post. The gate base includes an upper and lower eyelet. Each of the ends of the gate includes upper and lower pins for engaging the upper and lower eyelets of the gate bases. On the hinge side of the gate, the pins are relatively long and remain in the eyelets as the gate is lifted and swung. On the latch side of the gate, the pins are relatively short such that that latch side of the gate can be lifted and disengaged from the eyelets and then swung open. The gate is extendable and retractable in length, and is reversible.

Gate post for fencing system

An improved fencing system can include improved fence posts. Such fence posts can include features for accommodating different types of fasteners for attachment to fence components, such as fence rails. Additionally, some fence posts, such as gateposts, can be formed with one or more pieces of other fenceposts in a fencing system. Some such improved fence posts can include concrete locks.

Gate latching system

The present invention is a gate latching system for use in securing a pair of cooperating stock gates together. A preferred embodiment of the invention employs a pair of latching devices for securing a pair of overlapping stock gates together in a closed position. An alternate embodiment of the invention is designed with an extended arm for securing a pair of stock gates closed when the stock gates do not overlap. Both pairs of latching devices are designed so that one of the latching devices is bolted to one gate and the other latching device is bolted to the other gate. Each latching device has a u-shaped receiver for receiving a horizontal member of the opposite gate. The horizontal members enter the u-shaped receivers by lifting one of the gates as the gates are being closed and are secure therein by a lid that closes over one receiver.

Hinged safety gate

A hinged safety gate can include a gate frame and a retainer assembly. The gate frame can have a distal upright member, an upper cross-arm, and a lower cross-arm. The hinged safety gate can have a retainer assembly that is configured to be attached to a proximal end of the gate frame and to hingedly couple the gate frame to a stationary vertical surface, permitting the gate frame to swing between an open position and a closed position. The gate frame is horizontally adjustable in two different manners relative to the retainer assembly to accommodate a range of access area widths.

Vehicle barrier gate arm having anti-roll end cap
11873609 · 2024-01-16 ·

A vehicle barrier gate arm has an anti-roll end cap which prevents the gate arm from rolling when it has become detached from its gate operator. The end cap comprises a distal outer panel and three or more protrusions positioned radially equidistant along the periphery of the distal outer panel. The protrusions extend outward from the distal outer panel perpendicular to the gate arm. The protrusions may form a square, triangle, trapezoid, or cross and may taper inward in a proximal direction or may meet the outer cuff at a sharp angle. Furthermore, an outer and inner cuff form a friction fit with the end of a gate arm to removeable attach the end cap to the distal end of the gate arm.

A gate comprises a spring-loaded hinge arrangement defining a rotational axis. A gate structure having a first support arm connected to a first end of the hinge arrangement is also provided. The gate structure is rotatable about the rotational axis. A spring-loaded hinge arrangement includes an outer hinge tube fixedly connectable to an adjacent structure and an inner hinge tube received in the outer hinge tube. The inner hinge tube has a first portion and a second portion movable with respect to each other, the second portion of the inner hinge tube being fixed with respect to the outer hinge tube and the first portion of the inner hinge tube being fixed with respect to the support arm.
