Folding staircase
10519671 · 2019-12-31 ·

A folding staircase for use in a door opening having a threshold. The folding staircase has a pair of stringers that have an upper end and a lower end that is adapted for contacting a ground surface. The stringers are spanned by at least one tread. A hinge is connected to a floor near the door opening and a threshold plate pivotally connected thereto is movable between a use position and a stowed position. The staircase may be provided with a lifting mechanism that biases the staircase and threshold plate toward their stowed positions. The lifting device provides a variable force that provides more rotational force when the staircase would require a user to bear more of its weight and less force when less of the weight of the staircase would be borne by a user.

Light emitting device controlled by placement angle thereof

A light emitting device controlled by placement angle thereof includes a housing space disposed inside a shell element, wherein a light emitting element, a power supply element, and a conductive element are disposed in the housing space. The conductive element has a passage having a conductor therein. By a tilt of the shell element, a placement angle thereof is changed, whereby the conductor moves inside the passage between a conducting position and a disconnecting position. The wire set between the light emitting element and the power supply element is conductive when the conductor is at the conducting position, and is not conductive when the conductor is at the disconnecting position. Thus, the light emitting element is able to be controlled by changing the placement angle of an object to which the light emitting device attached, thereby achieving the convenience for usage.

SAFETY ROOF HATCH SYSTEM

A system is provided for safe access to a roof through an opening in a roof of a structure having a fixed ladder leading upward to the opening. The system includes a mechanism to drive a set of pushrods to raise a hatch covering the opening. The system may include a section of ladder secured to the underside of the hatch. The system may have an extendable ladder driven by the drive mechanism to slide along the fixed ladder and extend through the opening in the roof when the hatch is raised. The system may include a safety pole driven by the drive mechanism to extend through the opening in the roof when the hatch is raised. The system allows someone who needs to access the roof for inspection or maintenance to safely open the hatch, climb up through the opening in the roof, and safely step onto the roof.

FIXED SERVICE LADDER
20190136627 · 2019-05-09 ·

A fixed service ladder that has: a body attachable to a building; rungs attachable to the body as ladder steps; and side rails. The fixed service ladder has a use configuration, in which the fixed service ladder is in its use configuration, and for implementing a climbing hindrance, a retracted configuration, in which the rungs are turned closer to each other and to an angle differing from horizontal. The body has for each rung a first joint to which the rung joins allowing vertical pivoting; and for at least two different rungs restraints restraining said rungs in the use configuration. The rungs have second joints for pivotable joining with the side rails outside the body.

EXTERNAL LADDER ASSEMBLY FOR WIND TURBINE NACELLE

An external ladder assembly for a nacelle of a wind turbine includes at least one ladder having parallel side legs and a plurality of rungs arranged between the parallel side legs. The ladder assembly also includes a ladder platform arranged with the ladder and configured for placement atop the nacelle. Further, the ladder assembly includes a mounting assembly for affixing the ladder platform atop the nacelle. More specifically, the mounting assembly is adjustable between multiple positions so as to level the ladder platform atop the nacelle. Thus, the ladder assembly provides access to one or more uptower, external features of the wind turbine.

ACCESS PLATFORM SYSTEM WITH INTEGRATED FOLDING STEPS

An access platform system for enabling access to and from ground-based structures, vehicles, and mobile equipment. The system has a main frame that is attached to or juxtaposed with one or more of the ground-based structures, vehicles, and mobile equipment; a vertical platform displacement assembly attached to the main frame; and a folding steps assembly. The vertical displacement mechanism has a multi-stage apparatus for influencing the stroke of lift cylinders. In one embodiment, the folding steps assembly has electromechanical means for folding and unfolding the steps.

Extendable access device
10208539 · 2019-02-19 ·

The present invention relates to a particularly compact and safe extendable access device for gaining access to elevated locations via a hatch opening. The access device comprises a telescopic ladder with a plurality of sliding elements movable between an extended position and a retracted position, each sliding element comprising two stiles connected by a rung. The stiles of each sliding element are interlocked with the stiles of adjacent sliding elements, wherein each sliding element comprises a first locking mechanism for releasably connecting at least one of the stiles to an adjacent stile of an adjacent sliding element, the first locking mechanism being adapted to lock each sliding element in its retracted position. The first locking mechanism of each sliding element is adapted to releasably connect at least one stile of each sliding element to a stile of an adjacent sliding element, which is closer to a top end of the telescopic ladder, and is adapted to automatically disconnect said stiles once an adjacent sliding element, which is closer to a bottom end of the telescopic ladder, is in its extended position. The first locking mechanism is adapted to automatically connect the at least one stile of said sliding element to a stile of the adjacent sliding element, which is closer to a top end of the telescopic ladder, when the adjacent sliding element, which is closer to the bottom end of the telescopic ladder, is moved from its extended position towards its retracted position.
