Seabed drilling system
The present disclosure relates generally to a well boring apparatus, and associated components, for drilling wellbores without the necessity of traditional well drilling equipment. The well boring apparatus operates on similar principles as a tunnel boring apparatus. The well boring apparatus is self-propelled, steerable, and can be launched from a topside vessel or directly from a seabed installation. The well boring apparatus is fully instrumented and capable of analyzing the surrounding environment including the temperature, pressure, acidity and the presence of particular chemicals. The well boring apparatus is highly modular such that it can be configured for different tasks. The well boring apparatus can include components to case/line the wellbore during drilling, eliminating the need for running casing/lining. Further, the well boring apparatus can be incorporated in a drilling system in which cuttings are processed at the seabed, thereby removing the need for a drilling riser.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CASING DRILLING WITH A SUBSEA CASING DRIVE
A system and method for casing drilling with a subsea casing drive adapted to engage at the outer circumference of the casing string, to impart a linear force and/or torque to the casing string, and such a subsea casing drive per se are disclosed. During drilling, the subsea casing drive is provided in a subsea unit further comprising a blowout preventer, a pressure control device and a mud pump with an outlet to a mud hose connectable to a surface vessel. The wellbore is drilled by driving the bottom hold assembly, BHA, and the casing string into the wellbore by the subsea casing drive, while discharging mud and cuttings via the mud hose and supplying mud to the BHA from the mud circulation system on the vessel via the landing string and casing string.
Method and apparatus for sealing tubulars
A valve arrangement in a tubular having a first one way valve configured to prevent fluid flow in the tubular in a first direction; and a second one way valve configured to prevent fluid flow in the tubular in a second, opposite direction.
Wall Element System and Method and Apparatus for Constructing Shoring Walls
A caisson or casing 107 for installing a sheet 102/103 into a ground or underwater location, the caisson 107 having a shaped wall 107.1, which is open for a predetermined length and is adapted to receive and connect to an excavation means 3 within the confines of the caisson or casing 107. In at least one embodiment, the system includes a drilling assembly 3 for insertion of a caisson or casing 1, the drilling assembly 3 having one or more expanding drill bits 4 which are adapted to be driven by a drilling or rotation motive device 5, the expanding drill bits 4 being adapted to be arranged with respect to the caisson or casing 1 in use, so as form a hole or bore which substantially conforms to, or substantially overlaps with, the shape of the caisson or casing 1.
Modified casing running tool and method of using the same
A casing running tool is provided, including one or more sensors built into the casing running tool; an electronics housing that includes one or more power sources for powering the one or more sensors; one or more circuit boards for converting sensor data for transmission and transmission means for transmitting sensor data. The one or more sensors sense tool status and operational parameters of the casing running tool. A system is also provided for detection, processing and transmission of one or parameters of tool status and operational status of a casing running tool or associated tools in a casing installation or casing while drilling operation. The system includes a casing running tool; and a processor for receiving sensor data for processing and transmitting processed data in real-time for viewing by an operator. A method is further provided for performing a casing installation or casing while drilling operation.
UNDERWATER DRILLING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CREATING A CASED BOREHOLE UNDERWATER
The invention relates to an underwater drilling apparatus comprising a lowerable platform configured for setting down on a waterbody bottom, at least one support tube axially displaceable and rotatably mounted on the platform, at least one tubular drive arranged on the platform and configured for rotationally driving the support tube, in order to rotationally introduce the support tube into the waterbody bottom, and an in-hole drilling rig arranged in the support tube, wherein the in-hole drilling rig comprises: a rig base body, at least one clamping device for bracing and securing the in-hole drilling rig in the support tube, and a drill head which is axially displaceably and is rotatably mounted on the rig base body and can be rotationally driven by means of a drill drive. According to the invention, it is provided that, when the support tube is rotationally driven, the in-hole drilling rig is arranged in the support tube and is axially clamped thereto.
Apparatus and method for drilling a directional borehole in the ground
A directional casing drilling system includes a casing string, a drilling rig and a retrievable Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA). The drilling rig includes a casing drive for rotating the casing string in the borehole, a control system for controlling the casing drive, and a mud pump for pumping a continuous flow of drilling mud into the casing string. The BHA includes a torque transfer section, with which it is secured in the casing string, and a drill bit section held in a drilling position in the torque transfer section. It further includes a mud drive that rotates the drilling position of the drill bit section about the longitudinal axis of the torque transfer section, and a communicating device for communicating the orientation of the drill bit to the control system. The BHA is steered by adjusting the rotational speed of the casing string.
