SYSTEM FOR COUPLING BETWEEN A BEND STIFFENER AND A BELL MOUTH COMPRISING A PLURALITY OF LOCKING MECHANISMS
The present invention provides a system for coupling between a bend stiffener (1) and a bell month (2) comprising a plurality of locking mechanisms (3), wherein each locking mechanism (3) is secured externally to the bell mouth (2) and comprises a movable lug (30) positioned such as to slope downwards, in which the lug (30) accesses the interior of the bell mouth (2) and is actuated by an elastic element (34) designed to exert pressure on the lug (30) in the direction of the interior of the bell mouth (2).
SYSTEM FOR IMPROVING FLEXIBILITY OF RISER SUPPORTS IN STATIONARY PRODUCTION UNITS AND INSTALLATION METHOD
The present invention addresses to a system consisting of one or more pipes of low flexural rigidity (upper and intermediate extension pipes), connected to a thicker pipe section (lower extension pipe) by means of a varied cross-section pipe (conical profile) and further an adapter shaped like a helmet of a bend stiffener of a flexible riser, to enable, without operational losses, the use of rigid risers in Stationary Production Units (SPUs) initially designed to receive only flexible risers, therefore not having specific supports for rigid risers. The low flexural rigidity of the pipe is achieved through the correct selection of specific materials, preferably by using a titanium alloy that has a low modulus of elasticity and a high yield strength compared to steel.
Line guiding device for hanging applications, particularly as a service loop for a drilling rig
A line routing device for guiding a plurality of lines, such as cables, hoses, or the like, particularly for hanging applications, such as supplying a vertically traveling power head of a drill. The line routing device has a flexible carrying strand and a plurality of guide bodies arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the carrying strand. According to the invention, adjacent guide bodies can be deflected spatially toward each other and each guide body has a central part having a center axis, which extends coaxially to the carrying strand, and an outer part having at least one circumferential element. The outer part delimits a receiving region, which is open in the axial direction, for the lines, radially to the outside.
Offloading hydrocarbons from subsea fields
A subsea hydrocarbon export system includes a riser tower having a riser column extending from a seabed location to a sub-surface buoy that supports the riser column in an upright orientation. A subsea connector is operable underwater to couple the riser column temporarily to a hose suspended from a surface shuttle tanker vessel for an export operation and to release the hose after the export operation.
System and method for supporting the operation of subsea installations for 3D reconstruction of flexible pipes during a direct vertical connection operation
This invention provides a system and a method for supporting the operation of subsea installations for 3D reconstruction of flexible pipes (1) during a direct vertical connection operation, comprising the steps of painting the flexible pipe (1) with a specific regular pattern, and performing a 3D reconstruction of the points sampled on the flexible pipe (1) to obtain the radius of curvature of the flexible pipe (1), in which the 3D reconstruction comprises the steps of: capturing images of the flexible pipe (1) during the direct vertical connection operation; sending the captured images to a dedicated computer (4); and processing the captured images, generating information on the radius of curvature, wherein the method initially comprises at least one of the following steps: painting the bend restrictor (6) with a specific regular pattern; painting straps (71) for buoys (7) with a specific regular pattern; and painting straps (71) for the arch bend, in the event of second-end direct vertical connection.
SPLIT SEGMENTED BEND RESTRICTOR
An improved method and apparatus for providing bend limits and cable protection on medium to large diameter (approx. 30 mm-300 mm) seismic towed arrays, umbilicals as well as medium and high voltage power and/or communications subsea cables. These medium to high voltage cables are typically used on stationary and floating wind turbines and other offshore platforms such as used by the oil and gas industries. This system is an improvement over existing designs and techniques commonly used for this bend limiting purpose.
Bending restrictor
Bend restrictor comprising at least one pipe section and at least one clamp section wherein the pipe section comprises an outward facing flange at each end, the pipe section is split in the longitudinal direction into at least two parts, wherein the clamp section comprises an inward facing flange at each end and a pipe shaped middle section therebetween, wherein the clamp section is split in the longitudinal direction into at least two parts, wherein said parts are connectable through bolt connections, and wherein each inward facing flange is adapted to receive the outward facing flange of a pipe section.
Method and apparatus for temporary injection using a dynamically positioned vessel
A dynamically positioned vessel (DPV) is located above an injection well, inject water or other fluids temporarily or for a short period of time, adjust the injection parameters, and either continue operating for the life of the system or as long as required to add permanent facilities on another platform. The DPV is connected to the potential injection well via a hybrid riser system. The hybrid riser system includes a rigid portion and a flexible portion. Injection using the DPV and the hybrid rise system can be more economical than injection using a conventional mobile offshore drilling unit (MODU) and a rigid riser.
Systems for securing bend stiffeners to riser systems in offshore energy production facilities
Disclosed are systems for securing a bend stiffener to a riser in an offshore energy production facility. In one system, the lower end of the bend stiffener has a magnet that repels a magnet in a clamp on the riser a distance below the bend stiffener. The magnets repel one another with a force during operation to decelerate falling and prevent contact between the clamp and the bend stiffener. Methods are provided for retrofitting a riser system by adding the magnets. In another system, the riser has an upper portion and a tapered portion immediately below the upper portion. The outer diameter of the tapered portion increases such that the tapered portion can be friction fit into the lower end of the bend stiffener in the event that the bend stiffener is forced down or free falls onto the riser.
Bend restrictors
An element for a bend restrictor including a first part and a second part which together provide a cavity for receipt of a flexible pipe, in use, the two parts are pivotably connected together at a first portion thereof and are releasably coupled or couplable together at a second portion thereof. Successive elements may be secured together to form a bend restrictor.
