Flexible pipe and a method for providing buoyancy to a jumper or riser assembly
A riser or jumper assembly for transporting production, exportation or injection fluids is disclosed as is a method for providing buoyancy to such an assembly. The riser or jumper assembly includes a first segment of flexible pipe comprising a portion of flexible pipe body and a first and second end fitting, a further segment of flexible pipe comprising a portion of flexible pipe body and a first and second end fitting and an intermediate segment of flexible pipe comprising a portion of flexible pipe body and a first and second end fitting and at least one buoyancy element.
Riser deflection mitigation
Techniques and systems to reduce deflection of a riser extending from an offshore platform. The riser may include a flow guide. The flow guide may receive a fluid. The flow guide may also include one or more outlets that are configured to transmit the fluid. This transmission of the fluid by the one or more outlets may counteract currents or other factors to mitigate deflection in the riser.
Subsea line clamp assembly
A subsea line clamp assembly (1) has a body (10) having an axis and a clamp member (50), assembled in segments around a subsea line (3), and tethered to a subsea anchor (5). The clamp member (50) is movably located within the body (10). The inner surface of the body (10) and the outer surface of the clamp member (50) have respective tapered portions as part of teeth (32, 72) arranged to inter-engage. Adjacent teeth (32, 72) may be separated by axis-parallel portions. The clamping force on the subsea line (30) can be maintained at a consistent clamping force throughout the service life of the subsea line (3), despite the actions of creep and compression acting to reduce the outer diameter of the line (3).
Bend stiffener with bend indication
A bend stiffener including a body tapering from a base to a top. The body has a central through-opening, extending from the base to the top, which is arranged to receive a subsea cable or umbilical, and a first bend indicator arranged on the body. The first bend indicator has a proximal portion having a fixed end which is fixed relative to the body and a distal portion which has a free end. The first bend indicator extending from the fixed end to the free end in the axial direction of the body. The distal portion covers a bend indication portion of the bend stiffener, which bend indication portion has a first visual appearance, and which distal portion has a second visual appearance. The first visual appearance differs from a visual appearance of an area of the bend stiffener surrounding the bend indication portion.
Bend Stiffener
A bend stiffener for resisting excessive-bending of an elongate underwater member in a region where it meets a rigid structure, comprises: a sleeve (1) for receiving said elongate underwater member, said sleeve being capable of some degree of flexure; and a rigid interface mount (3) secured to said sleeve, said rigid interface mount being suitable for attachment to said rigid structure; wherein said rigid interface mount comprises one or more slots (4) or holes which are alignable with corresponding slots, holes or recesses on said rigid structure such that the rigid interface mount may be locked to the rigid structure by locking means (2), said locking means comprising projection(s) through the slots or holes of the rigid interface mount into the slots, holes or recesses of the rigid structure. The bend stiffener is particular suited to mid-line applications, amongst other applications.
Electronic combined load weak link
A safety device and method for protection of the integrity of well barrier(s) or other interfacing structure(s) at an end of a riser string or a hose includes a releasable connection in the riser string or hose, the releasable connection arranged to release or disconnect during given predefined conditions in order to protect the well barrier(s) or other interfacing structure(s). The safety device safety device includes at least one sensor to monitor at least one of tension loads, bending loads, internal pressure loads and temperature. The sensor provides measured data relating to at least one of tension loads, bending loads, internal pressure loads and temperature. An electronic processing unit receives and interprets the measured data from the sensor. An electronic, hydraulic or mechanical actuator or switch is arranged to receive a signal from the electronic processing unit and initiate a release or disconnect of the releasable connection.
Force element arrangement and method
The present invention relates to a riser joint for a riser with a joint connecting two parts of a riser where the two parts are allowed angular displacement. According to the invention the riser joint comprises means for connection to the two parts of the riser at a distance from the joint, and means for adding a force between the two parts. The invention also relates to a method for reducing bending moments in a riser at a connection between the riser and a subsea installation.
INTERFACE
A bend restrictor segment comprises a female end and a mate end, wherein the female end is suitable for locating around the male end of a further bend restrictor segment and the male end is suitable for locating inside the female end of a further bend restrictor segment. The bend restrictor segment is adapted to be suitable for coupling, in either orientation, to an interface unit.
CONTACT PRESSURE LIMITATION
Apparatus and a method are disclosed for limiting contact pressure between a flexible pipe and a bending guide member. The apparatus includes a bending guide member extending over a covered region of a flexible pipe in which the flexible pipe can bend wherein a gap between an inner surface of the bending guide member and an outer surface on the flexible pipe in at least a portion of the covered region is tapered and narrows towards an unconstrained end of the bending guide member.
