Tubing head spool with adapter bushing
Apparatus and methods provide for a tubing head spool that may be disposed in a wellhead during drilling or other wellbore operations, after which a tubing hanger adapter may be disposed within the tubing head spool for hanging tubing. Methods include installing a tubing head spool onto a wellhead, installing a blow out preventer onto the tubing head spool, drilling a well by running downhole tools and at least one casing string through the tubing head spool, running a tubing hanger adapter bushing through the blow out preventer and into the tubing head spool, running a tubing string into the well, and landing out the tubing string using a tubing hanger configured to hang within the tubing hanger adapter bushing.
METHODS FOR PREPARING COATING COMPOSITIONS FOR PROTECTING OILFIELD OPERATIONAL COMPONENTS
Coating compositions for coating an oilfield operational component, and related methods, may include in some aspects a coating composition having a trifunctional silane, a silanol, and a filler. The coating composition may be applied to a surface of the oilfield operational component that is configured to be exposed to a fluid. The coating composition may be applied to at least partially cover or coat the surface. The coating composition may be configured to chemically bond with a cured primer composition that includes an epoxy.
Coated oilfield operational components and methods for protecting and extending the service life of oilfield operational components
Coating compositions for coating an oilfield operational component, and related methods, may include in some aspects a coating composition having a trifunctional silane, a silanol, and a filler. The coating composition may be applied to a surface of the oilfield operational component that is configured to be exposed to a fluid. FLOW DISTRIBUTION ASSEMBLIES WITH SHUNT TUBES AND EROSION-RESISTANT SHUNT NOZZLES
A shunt tube assembly includes a shunt tube having an inner flow path for a fluid and defining an opening in a sidewall of the shunt tube. A shunt nozzle is coupled to the sidewall and has an elongate slot defined therethrough and is aligned with the opening to provide fluid communication between the inner flow path and an exterior of the shunt tube. The elongate slot has a length and a height, and the length is greater than the height.
Rotating and reciprocating swivel apparatus and method
What is provided is a method and apparatus wherein a swivel can be detachably connected to an annular blowout preventer thereby separating the drilling fluid or mud into upper and lower sections and allowing the fluid to be displaced in two stages, such as while the drill string is being rotated and/or reciprocated. In one embodiment the sleeve or housing can be rotatably and sealably connected to a mandrel. The swivel can be incorporated into a drill or well string and enabling string sections both above and below the sleeve to be rotated in relation to the sleeve. In one embodiment the drill or well string does not move in a longitudinal direction relative to the swivel. In one embodiment, the drill or well string does move longitudinally relative to the sleeve or housing of the swivel.
FRICTIONAL SUPPORT OF SEAL BORE PROTECTOR
A seal bore protector for protecting a seal bore of a rotating control device (RCD) is provided. The seal bore protector includes a cylindrical body, a throughbore extending through the cylindrical body, and a sealing element disposed around an external surface of the cylindrical body. The sealing element includes a first sealing ring, a second sealing ring, and a sealed area between the first sealing ring and the second sealing ring. The sealed area is fluidly coupled with a port when the seal bore protector is installed in the rotating control device.
Burst Plug Assembly with Choke Insert, Fracturing Tool and Method of Fracturing with Same
A burst plug assembly for use in the fluid port of tubular fracturing tools to provide erosion resistance. The assembly has a body with an annular side wall and a closing wall closing the central bore of the annular side wall. A choke insert is retained in the central bore of the body to line the inner surface of the central bore. A groove in a face of the closing wall circumscribes a core in the bottom wall, and is sized and located so that a largest dimension of the core is no greater than a diameter of the inner bore of the choke insert, such that when a prescribed threshold hydraulic pressure level of the treatment fluid is applied to the closing wall the core disengages from the closing wall along the groove in a bursting action and passes through the inner bore of the choke insert.
LEAD IMPRESSION TOOL
A lead impression system having a downhole tool and a lead impression assembly assembled radially around the downhole tool is landed on a previously installed host casing hanger or a casing hanger being installed in the current/same trip to obtain a lead impression from the bore of the wellhead housing and indicate where the host casing hanger is located axially within the wellhead housing with respect to a feature on the bore of the wellhead housing from which the lead impression is obtained. Lead impression modules in the assembly have a lead pad that protrudes radially outward through a window on an outer sleeve according to a pressure differential between an internal and an external pressure of the lead impression assembly. The lead pad retracts to its pre-set position when the pressure differential exceeds a preset burst pressure.
