Offloading hydrocarbons from subsea fields
11248421 · 2022-02-15 · ·

An offloading system for conveying hydrocarbons from a buoyancy-supported subsea riser to a surface tanker vessel comprises a flexible hose that hangs from the riser structure in a U-shape having first and second limbs. An upper end of the first limb communicates with the riser and an upper end of the second limb terminates in a pulling head for connecting the hose to the tanker. A clump weight acts on a lowermost bend of the hose between the limbs to maintain tension in the limbs. A subsurface holder fixed to the riser structure is arranged to hold the pulling head against the tension in the second limb of the hose when the system is in a standby state. The holder is offset laterally from a central longitudinal axis of the riser structure and a counterweight is positioned to a side of that axis opposed to the holder.

System and method of alignment for hydraulic coupling

A system for aligning an auxiliary line connection in a termination assembly of a marine riser assembly includes a terminal block secured to an outer diameter of a termination ring. The terminal block has a piston housing that extends through a sidewall of the termination ring. A ring adapter has an outer diameter sized to engage an inner diameter of the termination ring when a shoulder of the ring adapter is landed on a load shoulder of the termination ring. A moveable floating ring assembly is retained within the piston pocket of the ring adapter. A piston housed within piston housing is moveable between a retracted position where an outer end of the piston is spaced apart from the floating ring assembly, and an extended position for forming a sealed auxiliary path from the terminal block to the ring adapter.

Installation of Subsea Risers

A method of installing a wave-configuration subsea riser of unbonded flexible pipe comprises lowering the riser progressively into the sea from an installation vessel while suspending an elongate clump weight in a catenary shape that comprises first and 5 second limbs extending upwardly from a conjoining bottom portion. An upper end of the first limb, at a distal end of the clump weight, is attached to the riser and an upper end of the second limb, at a proximal end of the clump weight, is suspended from a winch or crane of the vessel. While lowering the riser from the vessel, the weight load applied to the riser by the clump weight is controlled by adjusting the relative lengths of the first 0 and second limbs of the clump weight.

ADAPTER TOOL FOR COUPLING A BEND STIFFENER WITH INTERFACE FOR BELL MOUTHS OF MODELS WITH BSN900E TYPE CONNECTION IN A DIVERLESS BELL MOUTH (BSDL) AND INTERCONNECTION METHODS

In order to achieve the objects described above, the present invention provides an adapter tool for coupling a ben stiffener with interface for bell mouths of models with connection type BSN900E in a diverless bell mouth (BSDL), consisting of a adapter split ring (1), guide pin holes (C), fastener eyes (D), and through holes (E). The adapter tool is capable of keeping interchangeability and flexibility between projects or project phases, even if different bellmouth models are used. The interconnection method between the helmet (9) and the adapter split ring (1) can be done by direct attachment by bolt, or by attachment by ring/rod support. Both interconnections can be made on board a flexible line launching vessel, in the case of reusing lines from other projects, or at the factory, in the case of sharing new flexible lines.

Riser running tool with liquid fill and test

A drilling riser running system includes a water filling system and a pressure testing system that can fill and pressure test auxiliary lines of the riser system, while simultaneously running a riser joint.

Running a subsea riser string

A vessel is adapted to perform subsea wellbore related operations, involving a riser string that extends between a subsea wellbore and a vessel and that is assembled from releasably interconnected riser sections that each comprise a main riser pipe and at least one auxiliary pipe. The vessel includes an auxiliary pipe filling device adapted to fill the at least one auxiliary pipe of a riser section during a lowering step of said riser running operation, the auxiliary pipe filling device including a liquid source, e.g. for water, at least one nozzle adapted to dispense water into said auxiliary pipe, a liquid flow line, connecting the liquid source with the nozzle, and a nozzle mount that is adapted to mount the nozzle in a filling position in which the nozzle is positioned to dispense liquid into the at least one auxiliary pipe of the riser section during said lowering step.

Coil Structure

A coil structure unit comprises a base and a tower structure, the tower structure comprises a plurality of intermediate units. The length of each of the plurality of intermediate sections can be about 50 feet. The length allows to utilize a manipulator that allows equipment such as lubricators and blowout preventers to be integral to the loads which will eliminate much of the rig up time and complication as well as having much more flexibility in operations to take the items on and off hole.

System for connecting between risers of composite material and flowlines, which can be used with a hybrid riser, and method for constructing same

This invention relates to oil and gas exploration and comprises a direct connection system referred to as a Lower Riser Termination Assembly (LRTA), between risers made of composite material and horizontal lines installed on the seabed (flowlines). The system is applicable to a hybrid riser and its construction method allows cost reduction and system assembly/installation time optimization. The LRTA connection system is applicable to both rigid and flexible flowlines without need for any intermediate connection section/equipment between these and the risers. The construction of the system allows free vertical expansion of the risers along the entire structure. In addition, in the construction method developed for this system, the required area is significantly reduced.

Riser bolt torque system

Present embodiments relate to a riser bolt torque device that is configured to couple a first riser joint to a second riser joint to form a riser of a subsea drilling system. The riser bolt torque device includes a first arm and a second arm, multiple torque tools supported on the first arm and the second arm, and one or more actuators configured to drive the first arm and the second arm to pivot relative to one another from an open configuration to a closed configuration to enable alignment between the multiple torque tools and a flange of the first riser joint.

Submarine drilling support system

The submarine drilling support system includes a first guide support part that has a ring shape, has a plurality of rollers of which roller axes are directed to a horizontal direction and is arranged along a circumferential direction going around a rotation support axis parallel to a vertical direction, and is provided to allow the drill pipe to be inserted through in the vertical direction; and a first rotation holding part that is configured to support the first guide support part so as to be rotatable in the circumferential direction. The pluralities of rollers are adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction and are arranged in a state where the drill pipe is able to insert through a space surrounded by the plurality of rollers.
