System and method for managing drilling fluid
Present embodiments are directed to a drilling fluid management device. A containment structure of the drilling fluid management device is capable of engaging and at least partially creating a seal with a drillpipe element or drillpipe handling equipment. Further, a suction port structure of the drilling fluid management device extends from the containment structure and includes an opening into the containment structure, wherein the suction port structure is designed to couple with a drilling fluid transport feature.
METHOD FOR DRILLING A WELL IN CONTINUOUS CIRCULATION AND DEVICE FOR INTERCEPTING AND REDISTRIBUTING FLUID USED IN THIS METHOD
A method for drilling a well in continuous circulation and a device for intercepting and redistributing fluids for this drilling method, comprising a main chamber (5) communicating with a first auxiliary chamber (6) and with a second auxiliary chamber (7), in which during the direct drilling flow (F1) mode, said auxiliary chambers (6,7) are placed in fluid communication with each other.
In relation to the prior art, the device and the method of the invention offer the advantage of significantly reducing localized wear on the system for intercepting and redistributing the drilling fluid, through exploitation of auxiliary chambers that are placed in fluid communication with one another and that thereby make it possible to sustain even the high flow rates required for wells of larger dimensions and/or that use bottom hole equipment to impart rotation to the drill bit (normally hydraulic motors or turbines).
OPENHOLE LOGGING TOOL INTEGRATING WELLBORE FLUIDS TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
A method includes drilling a wellbore and deploying a logging string including a jet nozzle and an anchor in the wellbore. The method includes hydraulically coupling a jetting treatment system including a mud treatment system to a mud circulation system, hydraulically coupling a drilling mud including wellbore fluids to the mud circulation system, and hydraulically coupling the mud circulation system to a drill string bore of the drill string. The method includes activating the jetting treatment system to circulate the drilling mud in the mud treatment system. The method includes circulating in the wellbore, using the jetting treatment system, a treatment mud, disposed in the mud treatment system, wherein the treatment mud is configured for treating the wellbore fluids. The method includes logging the well using the logging string, and treating the wellbore fluids using the treatment mud to form treated wellbore fluids.
Robotic system for continuous circulation for a drilling operation
A system can include a continuous circulation subcomponent, a robotic device, and a control system. The subcomponent can include a receiving area and can be associated with a drilling operation for forming a wellbore. The robotic device can include an end effector that can include a sensing device and tools corresponding to operations to facilitate continuous circulation in the wellbore. The control system can cause the robotic device to perform operations. The robotic device can align the end effector with the receiving area. The robotic device can determine whether a leak is present at the receiving area. The robotic device can connect, disconnect, or a combination thereof the diversion line with the receiving area to allow the continuous circulation during the drilling operation.
