An apparatus for cutting and/or milling of tubulars in a wellbore, especially using coiled tubing. An elongated main body has a longitudinal bore, with a piston slidably positioned in the bore. The piston is connected to one or more operating arms which are rotatably connected to the main body. The connection between the piston and the operating arms may be a pinned connection or a geared connection, both of which provide for a positive connection between the piston and the operating arms. Cutter bases are connected to the cutter arms, with a number of cutters mounted to the cutter bases. Fluid flow down the coiled tubing and through the main body bore pushes the piston downwardly, opening the operating arms and cutter bases and permitting the apparatus to be pulled up into the lower end of a tubular string for cutting and/or milling.

The cutter bases are moved radially by operating arms which are rotatably attached to the main body, which are in turn moved by an operating mechanism in response to fluid flow through. One or more of the operating arms are extended to form a cutout arm, which enables cutting an initial window in a casing string, from which milling can continue. The operating arms are mounted to the main body by pins, which are held in the main body by a pin retaining arrangement.

A convertible fishing tool is provided for removing an object (fish) from a wellbore. The fishing tool includes an elongated hollow main housing and a plurality of slip blades that are disposed distal to the main housing and move radially between fully retracted positions and fully extended positions. In the fully retracted positions, the fishing tool is in spear configuration and in the fully extended positions, the fishing tool is in an overshot configuration. The fishing tool also includes an actuation system configured to move the plurality of slip blades in a radial direction between the fully retracted positions and the fully extended positions.

The spring element is arranged outside the actuator housing.

A borehole mill has blades that extend radially while moving along an inclined dovetail as a result of setting down weight on a mandrel. The blades extend axially beyond the end of the mandrel so that setting down weight disables a retainer that has the blades retracted for running in. Axial displacement of the blades along respective dovetails breaks a shear pin on a follower sleeve that is spring biased off a gage ring on the mandrel such that the spring stays compressed as long as set down weight is applied and once the mill is picked up the spring pushes the blades axially along a dovetail to the radially retracted position. The mill resumes its smallest dimension for pulling out of the hole.

Disclosed herein is a rotational roller apparatus for use with a pipeline unit. The pipeline unit is received in a pipeline for welding and/or inspection. The rotational roller is attached to and is able to support at least a portion of the weight of the pipeline unit. The rotational roller unit also includes an extension member and a reduced friction base. The reduced friction base is attached to an end of the extension member so that the rotational roller has a retracted and an extended configuration. In the extended configuration, the reduced friction base contacts an interior of the pipeline and supports at least a portion of the weight of the pipeline unit and thereby allows the unit to be rotated about a longitudinal axis within the pipeline.

The disclosed embodiments include a single-pass milling assembly for use in multilateral systems. In one embodiment, a first operational mode may be used to create a controlled window in a wellbore casing and a second operational mode may be used to begin a lateral wellbore through the controlled window. In certain embodiments, the first operational mode may convert hydraulic energy from a fluid flow to mechanical energy (e.g., using an agitator and power section) to push and rotate a radial mill to create the controlled window. The second operational mode may rotate a drill string to cause an axial mill to mill a rathole through the controlled window. The assembly may create the controlled window and begin the lateral wellbore using only one trip in the wellbore, leaving downhole a fixed deflection tool to provide support for another process that may continue to drill the lateral wellbore.
