Method and apparatus for cleaning a wellbore

An apparatus performs a method for cleaning a wellbore. The apparatus is a jet sub including an engine, a flow diverter and mixing throat. The engine propels a driving fluid at a first end of the jet sub towards a second end of the jet sub along a longitudinal axis of the jet sub. The flow diverter redirects the driving fluid by a redirection angle that is an obtuse angle. The mixing throat receives a mixed fluid including the driving fluid from the flow diverter and induced fluid drawn into the mixing throat by the driving fluid. The mixed fluid is injected into an annulus of the wellbore at the obtuse angle.

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for cleaning an oil and gas well riser section or assembly on location offshore that includes a larger diameter central pipe and a plurality of smaller diameter pipes that are spaced radially away from the central larger diameter pipe. Even more particularly, the present invention relates to an improved method and apparatus for cleaning oil and gas well riser sections wherein a specially configured cap or pair of caps are fitted to the ends of the riser which enable pressure washing cleaning tools (or a camera) to be inserted into and through a selected one of the pipes including either a smaller diameter of the pipes or the central larger diameter pipe and wherein the cap continuously collects spent cleaning fluid and debris, allowing the cleaning process to be done on location without transporting the riser section back onshore.

The magnet element has a cylinder-shaped housing. The removal unit has a helix-shaped longitudinal guide element arranged on the housing. The anchor is connected to the housing or the guide element such that actuation of the anchor during use will prevent rotation of the housing or the guide element, respectively, relative the well-bore. The container has an opening at the end of the housing. The housing and the guide element are rotatable relative each other, and configured such that metal debris accumulating on the housing during use is guided by the guide element towards the opening of the container when the anchor is actuated and the first connecting end is rotated.
