Brine Extraction Well System
An extraction well system is disclosed that allows for isolation of electrical cables from underground mine atmosphere. The extraction well system provides for a well casing that extends downwardly proximate to an existing mine cavity and an extension casing that extends downwardly below the mine roof. In one embodiment the extension casing is external to the well casing and is attached to the well casing mechanically such as with a dual thread reducer. The extension runs from above the mine roof to below the mine floor and is perforated in the area of the mine cavity to allow liquid to drain into the bottom of the extension well. In a second embodiment, the extension casing is interior to the well casing and is attached for example by an internal liner hanger. In this embodiment, the extension casing runs from above the mine roof to below the desired minimum liquid level and it is the well casing that extends downwardly in the extension well and which is perforated to allow liquids to flow into the well.
Casing imaging method
A method of imaging a wellbore casing using an ultrasonic sensing system through the material of a drill string as the drill string is tripped out of the wellbore.

Non-aqueous electrolytic solution and non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery using the same
A task is to provide a non-aqueous electrolytic solution exhibiting excellent cycle capacity maintaining ratio and excellent low-temperature resistance characteristics and a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery using the same. An object of the present invention is to provide a non-aqueous electrolytic solution which improves the cycle capacity maintaining ratio and low-temperature resistance characteristics, and a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery using the non-aqueous electrolytic solution. The present invention is a non-aqueous electrolytic solution comprising an electrolyte and a non-aqueous solvent dissolving therein the electrolyte, wherein the non-aqueous electrolytic solution contains a compound represented by formula (1) (wherein X represents an organic group containing a heteroatom, Y represents a sulfur atom, a phosphorus atom, or a carbon atom, n represents an integer of 1 or 2, m represents an integer of 2 to 4, l represents an integer of 1 or 2, and Z represents an organic group having 4 to 12 carbon atoms and optionally having a heteroatom), and a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprising the non-aqueous electrolytic solution.
Additive manufacture of wellbore lining
Provided are systems and methods for forming a casing liner in a wellbore of a hydrocarbon well. The forming including disposing a casing liner print head in an annular region located between a casing pipe disposed in a wellbore of a hydrocarbon well and a wall of the wellbore, conducting a downhole lining operation including operating the casing liner print head to eject casing liner integrated structure material into the annular region to form, in the annular region, a casing liner integrated structure including contiguous voids formed in the casing liner integrated structure material, and depositing a cementitious material into the contiguous voids formed in the casing liner material to form, in the annular region, a casing liner including the casing liner integrated structure material and the cementitious material.

Downhole apparatus with a valve arrangement
The present invention relates to a downhole apparatus and a valve arrangement for a downhole apparatus having a tubular body having first and second ports in a wall thereof; and a method of operating a valve arrangement of a downhole apparatus. The valve arrangement has at least one locked configuration and the first port provides fluid communication with a tool or a device which is a sand control element having at least one fluid deformable device. The present invention also provides a method of setting a sand control completion, extending the sand control filter element thereof to a wellbore surface and isolating the reservoir from an upper portion of the wellbore.
Systems and methods for casing drilling subsea wells
Systems and methods for casing drilling riserless sections of a subsea bore may include casing drilling a section of a bore for a casing of the subsea bore to a predetermined depth. The method also may include, while casing drilling the section of the bore, obtaining information indicative of pore pressure and fracture pressure of a geological formation through which the section is casing drilled, and determining a pressure range based at least in part on the pore pressure, the fracture pressure, and a modification to mechanical properties of the geological formation due to the casing drilling of the section. The method further may include selecting, based at least in part on the pressure range and the predetermined depth, a pressure of the bore for casing drilling the section.
EXPANDABLE LINER AND METHOD FOR RUNNING THE SAME
An expandable liner and a method for running the same are provided. The expandable liner includes a base pipe, wherein the base pipe is provided with a passage extending through an axial direction of the base pipe, a connection structure disposed at both ends of the base pipe, and screen openings on a wall of the base pipe; a porous expandable layer is fixedly attached to an exterior of the base pipe and made of a non-memory foamed and compressible material. The expandable liner and the method, by adopting a non-memory porous expandable layer, realize a sand-control performance and a wellbore-supporting capability of a prior art technology where memory materials are used, which significantly reduces costs in manufacturing, operating and running.
Morphable apparatus
Apparatus and method for securing and sealing a tubular portion to another tubular to provide a liner hanger in oil and gas wells. At the top of the liner string, a sleeve is arranged on the liner to create a chamber therebetween. A port provides fluid access through the liner to the chamber. When fluid is introduced into the chamber the sleeve is morphed to secure it to the cemented casing. A lower fluid pressure is required to morph the sleeve than if the liner itself was to be morphed. Embodiments are provided for securing and sealing arrangements to increase the metal to metal seal and the load capability between the liner string and casing.
