APPARATUS FOR MAKING CONFECTIONERY PRODUCTS

A description is given of apparatus for making confectionery products (1), in particular chewing gum, comprising a cutting station comprising at least two cutting units (10, 20) arranged in succession along the production line and each comprising at least one respective pair of opposing rollers (11a, 11c) and (21a, 21c) provided with knives (30), (40) oriented obliquely with respect to the flow of feeding of a sheet of confectionery material, preferably a rubbery material, in such a way that the opposing rollers of each pair are mirrored one to the other, and with respect to the corresponding rollers of the other pair.

Laser cut edible decorating sheet and methods of manufacture

An edible decoration is laser kiss cut from an edible decorating sheet by optically sensing at least one printed edible design on the edible decorating sheet relative to a laser cutting tool coordinate system and driving a laser along a circuit of cutting locations defined in the laser cutting tool coordinate system. The laser beam forms a separation channel by laser ablation of at least a portion of the edible decorating sheet at the cutting locations while leaving intact the non-adhesive releasable backing upon which the edible decorating sheet rests.

Method for manufacturing medicated chewing gum without cooling

An improved method for manufacture of chewing gums containing active ingredient(s) that preserves the efficacy of the active ingredient(s) by avoiding exposure to high heat and extreme cold during milling that can otherwise degrade the active's efficacy. A chewing gum base is used, along with one or more therapeutically-active ingredients, one or more sweeteners (alcohol-based and/or natural), and one or more flavorings and optional flavor modifiers. The method generally comprises heating the gum base in ovens to melt the gum base. Separately, the active ingredient(s), sweeteners and flavorings are combined in a mixer. The melted gum base is added to the mixer and cools to produce a particulate mixture. As mixing continues the mass cools to room temperature and forms granular pieces. The granular pieces are ground into a powder at room temperature, mixed at room temperature with tableting excipients, and tableted. Several variations on the foregoing are also described.

The invention relates to a chewing gum composition comprising, calculated as dry weight, 30-60 wt. % maltitol, 5 30 wt. % mannitol, 5-25 wt. % polyvinylacetate, 1-15 wt. % vinyl acetate-vinyl laurate copolymer, 0.5-5 wt. % gelling agent, 1-7 wt. % of at least one emulsifier. 0.1 ) wt. % trisectine and 1-10 wt. % fat, and with respect to the total weight of the chewing gum composition 4-15 wt. % water. The invention also relates to a print method in which said chewing gum composition is heated in cartridge in a heated print head and thus a three-dimensional object is printed in layers.

Method for manufacturing a comestible

A method of manufacturing a comestible is provided including providing at least one manufacturing instrument configured to contact the comestible. A releasing agent is atomized and expelled from an expelling device. Application of pressure to the releasing agent is unnecessary to achieve the atomizing. The atomized releasing agent is applied to either a surface of the at least one manufacturing instrument configured to contact the comestible or to a surface of the comestible.

Method and device for producing strip-shaped objects, in particular sticks of chewing gum

A method and device for producing individual strip-shaped objects. The method and device supply substantially rectangular sheets from which strip-shaped objects are to be formed. In forming the individual strips, the method and device separate an individual strip from the sheet along a front most groove, which forms a predetermined spacing between the individual consecutive separated strips for a subsequent onward conveying of the formed strips. Next, the method and device detect an actual position of each individually separated strip during the separation of the strips from the sheet, and corrects the position of the individual separated strips if the detected actual position of the strip does not correspond to a position which matches the predetermined spacing between the individual consecutive strips.
