An embolic material which prevents flow of a biological fluid by being placed in a body lumen via a catheter, the embolic material comprising a material that swells by contacting the biological fluid. The embolic material includes a long filler that is formed smaller than an inner diameter of the catheter. The filler prevents the flow of the biological fluid by bending when brought into contact with the biological fluid due to the difference in swelling characteristics between a first side portion and a second side portion that extend parallel to one another in a longitudinal direction.

VASCULAR OCCLUSION DEVICES UTILIZING THIN FILM NITINOL FOILS

A deployable occlusion device for filling an aneurysm. The occlusion device includes a support structure, for example a wire or otherwise elongate structure. The occlusion device also includes a mesh component having a porosity. The mesh component has a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion of the mesh component is attached to the support structure and the second end portion of the mesh component is a free end. The mesh component extends from the support structure.

An auxetic structure, a support structure, a method of preparing an auxetic structure, and use of a cellulosic material

According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided an auxetic structure, comprising or consisting of cellulosic material, preferably comprising nanostructured or microstructured cellulose on at least one of its surfaces or consisting of nanostructured or microstructured cellulose and optionally other cellulosic material.

Highly flexible degradable fibers

The present invention relates to a method for producing biodegradable fibers on the basis of a silane compound, said silane compound being crosslinked during production and, at least to some extent, an organic acid being incorporated into the forming crosslinked structure via covalent bonds and/or contributing to the crosslinking. The present invention also relates to the fibers that can be produced by the method according to the invention and to the use thereof.

Method for preparing a functionally gradient material for guided periodontal hard and soft tissue regeneration
11696974 · 2023-07-11 · ·

A functionally gradient material for guided periodontal hard and soft tissue regeneration includes a 3D printed scaffold layer and an electrospun fibrous membrane layer. The content of hydroxyapatite in the 3D printed scaffold layer is higher than the content of hydroxyapatite in the electrospun fibrous membrane layer. The pore size of the 3D printed scaffold layer is larger than the pore size of the electrospun fibrous membrane layer. The pore size of the 3D printed scaffold layer is 100-1000 μm, and the fiber diameter of the electrospun fibrous membrane layer is 300-5000 nm. The electrospun fibrous membrane layer is in a random distribution or an oriented arrangement or has a mesh structure. The thickness of the electrospun fibrous membrane layer is 0.08-1 mm.
