Surgical repair graft
The apparatuses and methods described herein relates generally to the field of active agent (drug) release from surgical grafts useful for soft tissue reconstruction, regeneration, or repair. More particularly, described herein are surgical grafts for soft tissue repair that include active agent that is released over time while advantageously matching the biomechanical properties of tissue during healing and recovery.
Three dimensional adjuncts
Stapling assemblies for use with a surgical stapler and methods for manufacturing the same are provided. Three dimensional adjuncts for use with a surgical stapling assembly and methods for manufacturing the same are also provided.
DELIVERY AIDS FOR GLAUCOMA SHUNTS
Glaucoma treatment systems are disclosed. In various example, the glaucoma treatment systems include a body and a fluid conduit configured to facilitate an evacuation of fluid, such as aqueous humor, from a fluid-filled body cavity, such as an anterior chamber of an eye. In some examples, the fluid conduit is soft and compliant, and the glaucoma treatment system includes one or more stiffening members coupled with the fluid conduit to temporarily stiffen the fluid conduit and help aid in the delivery of the glaucoma treatment device. In some examples, the stiffening members are removable from the fluid conduit after the glaucoma treatment system has been implanted.
ANALYTE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
Disclosed is a system and method for performing measurements on a biological subject, and in one particular example, to performing measurements of analytes in a biological subject by breaching a functional barrier of the subject using microstructures, wherein the one or more microstructures include an aptamer for binding one or more analytes.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR IMPLANTABLE MEDICAL DEVICES AND VASCULARIZATION MEMBRANES
An implantable medical device and methods for making and using the same are provided. In various embodiments, the device comprises a central hub structure in communication with at least one housing or pod capable of containing cells and therapeutic materials. Also provided are membrane structures and methods of forming the same, the membranes comprising a gradient of varying porosity for use with devices of the present disclosure, as well as other uses.
COMPOSITE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE POISSON'S RATIO MATERIALS FOR MEDICAL DEVICES
A stent for insertion into a vessel of a patient includes an inner tube comprising a positive Poisson's ratio (PPR) material and defining a lumen extending along a longitudinal axis of the stent; and an outer tube comprising a negative Poisson's ratio (NPR) foam material and disposed around an entirety of the inner tube, the outer tube extending along the longitudinal axis of the stent. The stent is configured to exhibit an auxetic behavior in response to a deformation of the stent. An outer surface of the second portion is configured to apply a pressure to an inner surface of the vessel when the stent is implanted into the vessel and the deformation is removed.
Molded parts with thermoplastic cellulose biopolymer compositions having oriented fibers for medical devices and implants
A longitudinal extending body with oriented fibers comprised of an organic compound, preferably cellulose fibers, with a hydrophilic and hydrophobic polymer having absorbable and non res sorbable qualities in the body, with an internal construction to promote cell growth. The longitudinal body has at least one wall having oriented fiber to include cellulose fiber extending the length of said body. This extending body has a surface that is smooth to the touch for additional processing methods such as machining, compression molding and 3 D printing.
LEFT ATRIAL APPENDAGE CLOSURE DEVICE WITH ANTI-THROMBOGENIC COVERING
Medical devices as wells as methods for making and using medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device may include a left atrial appendage device. The left atrial appendage device may include an expandable frame configured to shift between a first configuration and an expanded configuration. A fabric mesh may be disposed along at least a portion of the expandable frame. An anti-thrombogenic coating may be disposed along the fabric mesh.
Anti-Microbial Medical Materials and Devices
The present disclosure relates generally to materials and medical devices impregnated with antimicrobial compounds. More specifically, the materials are medical matrix materials comprising nanopores or nanochannels in which the antimicrobial compounds are disposed. In other embodiments, medical matrix materials comprises nanomaterials and antimicrobials distributed throughout the material. The materials described herein are useful for a broad spectrum of medical devices and consumer products. The present disclosure further provides methods of making the antimicrobial materials and medical devices disclosed herein.
SURGICAL MEMBRANE
A surgical membrane for supporting bone growth comprises a surface configured for receiving a surface functionalisation agent capable of promoting cell adhesion and proliferation and/or of reducing bacterial growth on said surface. The membrane is also subjected to a treatment improving the wettability of the surface.
