GROOVE MONITORING SYSTEM FOR ROADWAY MARKINGS
20240384479 · 2024-11-21 ·

Systems and method for applying roadway marking materials into a groove(s) in a roadway surface and/or forming a recessed groove(s) in a roadway surface. The systems and methods incorporate a contour sensor that provides real-time information of the marking material and/or groove. Based on the contour information, a marking material applicator can be aligned with a recessed groove in a roadway surface to ensure the marking material is applied within the confines of the groove. Alternatively, such contour information may be acquired during groove formation to ensure depth, tilt and/or bottom surface smoothness of the groove is within predetermined limits.

Anti-Skid High Retroreflectivity Preformed Thermoplastic Composites for Runway Applications

Disclosed is an alkyd or hydrocarbon resin-based pre-manufactured thermoplastic airport runway signage that is applied in relatively large sections onto an airport runway where the alkyd or hydrocarbon resin-based composite includes a functionalized wax incorporated in the resin-based composite within the range of 0.2 to 3 percent by weight, thereby allowing the resin-based composite to exist in a molten state within a viscosity range of between 35,000 and 85,000 centipoise and wherein the top surface provides an area for surface indicia materials existing on the top surface together with retroreflective glass beads with an index of refraction of 1.9 such that when the beads are suspended in and applied on the surface of the resin-based composite in a molten state the beads do not sink into the resin-based composite provide for allowing and maintaining an overall retroreflectivity of about 1000 millicandellas/m.sup.2/lux (mcd).

Pavement marking system with pavement marker dispenser having curvilinear feed tube for improved marker spacing
12188189 · 2025-01-07 · ·

A pavement marker dispenser for a pavement marking system dispenses retroreflective markers for a roadway with more accurate marker spacing. The dispenser includes an elongated feed tube that houses a generally vertical curvilinear stack of pavement markers. The feed tube has top and bottom openings to respectively receive and dispense the markers in a downwardly vertical direction. The feed tube has a nonlinear curvature along its length to produce the curvilinear stack of markers so that a downwardly vertical stacking force imposed on a bottommost marker to be dispensed is reduced. The feed tube has first and second curved portions so that the nonlinear curvature is generally serpentine in shape. A disc actuator having a pushing arm extends perpendicular to the feed tube to push the bottommost marker in a rearward and downward direction into the delivery chute, which dispenses the markers.

FESTOON FORM TAPE PACKAGING
20250033923 · 2025-01-30 ·

A packaged tape includes a tape having a length, such as a pavement marking tape having a base tape, adhesive, and liner. The tape includes a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The tape is folded in a festoon form arrangement with the second end of the tape being available to be joined to a first end of another tape folded in the festoon form arrangement. While the packaged tape is being dispensed and applied, or before such, the second end can be spliced to an end of another packaged tape in the festoon form arrangement.

PEDESTRIAN TILE, REPLACEABLE TILE SECTION AND/OR RESILIENT DOME STRUCTURE
20170241089 · 2017-08-24 ·

A detectable warning tile system has a tile base with an upper surface and a lower surface. The upper surface has a plurality of upward projections therefrom. The tile base has two side edges for alignment with corresponding side edges of other tiles, and front and rear edges. An area of the upper surface of the tile base is formed free of the detectable warnings and may include a trough into or over which a replaceable tile section may be placed. The tile base and/or replaceable tile section may be configured to receive one or more individually-installable detectable warnings.
