RETRACTABLE SPEED BUMP AND A METHOD FOR RETRACTING A SPEED BUMP
A retractable speed bump and a method for retracting a speed bump. The retractable speed bump may include a retractile element, a chassis, and a hydraulic mechanism. The hydraulic mechanism may include a hydraulic cylinder including a hollow cylindrical shape, a hydraulic piston including a solid cylindrical shape, a first connecting rod, an oil sealing member, a return spring, a spring retainer, and a floating gasket. Responsive to downward movement of the first connecting rod at a speed higher than a threshold, the hydraulic cylinder may prevent downward movement of the first connecting rod and responsive to downward movement of the first connecting rod at a speed lower than the threshold, the hydraulic cylinder may allow downward movement of the first connecting rod.
Anti-ram sliding crash gate
A crash gate assembly includes a buttress post assembly secured in the ground and having two vertical buttress posts forming a barrier passage, a latch post assembly secured in the ground on the opposite side of a roadway from the buttress post assembly, the latch post assembly including two vertical latch posts forming a gap, and a barrier including a horizontal gate beam disposed in the barrier passage and extending from a buttress end to a latch end, the barrier slidingly positioned in a closed position with the barrier extending across the roadway and the latch end disposed in the latch gap.
Automatic bollard security system with manual override
A bollard security system for opening and shutting an entrance or exit to a passageway includes a plurality of bollards activated by a drive system including a counterweight. The system includes vehicle and or personnel recognition and authorization system for lowering the bollards. The system can be operated manually when the drive system is non-operational.
VEHICLE ARRESTOR SYSTEM
A vehicle arrestor system includes a ditch box defined by a pair of opposing side walls and a bottom wall extending between the side walls forming a chamber therebetween. A movable plate forms at least a portion of a top wall of the chamber. A mechanical actuator is operably coupled to the movable plate for causing the movable plate to move between a non-actuated position and an actuated position. The movable plate is flush with the road pavement when in the non-actuated position and is not flush with the road pavement when in the actuated position. The vehicle arrestor system serves a dual purpose of arresting movement of a vehicle and providing a notification to a driver of the vehicle to slow down if the vehicle is exceeding the posted speed limit. A method of controlling a vehicle in a locked island arrangement is also disclosed.
Selectively controlling a self-driving vehicle's access to a roadway
A processor-implemented method and/or computer program product selectively blocks a self-driving vehicle's access to a roadway. A vehicle interrogation hardware device receives an autonomous capability signal from an approaching self-driving vehicle. One or more processors compare the predefined roadway conditions to current roadway conditions of the access-controlled roadway. In response to the predefined roadway conditions matching the current roadway conditions of the access-controlled roadway within a predetermined range, the processor(s) determine whether the level of autonomous capability of the approaching self-driving vehicle is adequate to safely maneuver the approaching self-driving vehicle through the current roadway conditions of the access-controlled roadway. In response determining that the level of autonomous capability of the self-driving vehicle is not adequate to safely maneuver the approaching self-driving vehicle through the current roadway conditions of the access-controlled roadway, an automatic barricade controlling device positions an automatic barricade to block the approaching self-driving vehicle from accessing the access-controlled roadway.
SECURITY BARRIER APPARATUS
Security barrier apparatus (10) comprising a support (12, 14) and a barrier member (18, 20) movable relative to the support between a stowed position and a deployed position, the support (12, 14) having an upper part (16) for positioning substantially at ground level. The barrier member (18, 20) has at least two telescopic posts one within the other, the inner post (20) being lowermost in the deployed position. A linkage is provided between an outer post (18) and the inner post (20). In use, motion of the outer post (18) between the stowed position and the deployed position causes corresponding motion of the inner post (20).
AUTOMATIC BOLLARD SECURITY SYSTEM WITH MANUAL OVERRIDE
The invention relates to a security system for selectively shutting and opening the vehicle entrance or exit or passage ways. It particularly relates to the bollard security system or apparatus for selectively shutting and opening the vehicle entrance or exit or passage ways. It specifically relates to the simple, efficient, automatic and cost effective, bollard security system or apparatus with manual override and method for selectively shutting and opening the vehicle entrance or exit or passage ways. The security system is with electromechanical equipment and we use direct motor to drive the equipment and balancing technology makes load on drive shaft almost nil, thus reduces the power requirement and manual override possible.
Unidirectional bend drive chain and lift mechanism and boom barrier including same
A unidirectionally bendable transmission chain. At a first side thereof, an inner stop plate is fixed between a pair of inner chain plates at both ends of pin shafts, and an outer stop plate is fixed between a pair of outer chain plates at both ends of the pin shafts. Both ends of the inner stop plate are flush with axes of pin holes provided at both ends of the inner chain plates, and both ends of the outer stop plate are respectively provided with extensions beyond the outer chain plates; the extensions of the outer stop plate form a one-sided support for the inner stop plate to prevent the transmission chain from bending toward the first side, thus the transmission chain bends unidirectionally toward a second side opposite to the first side. A hoisting mechanism and a liftable roadblock having the above transmission chain.
Pneumatic fare gate
A pneumatic drive mechanism for converting linear motion from compressed air into rotational motion for use in fare gates and other applications.
