Medical devices with reduced thrombogenicity
A plasma-activated coating (PAC) process covalently binds enzymes in their bioactive state, has low thrombogenicity and can be robustly applied to medical devices, resisting delamination when deployed in vivo. Applying this process to attachment of proteins such as enzymes that inhibit thrombosis and anticoagulants such as heparin or heparin fragments, one can produce medical devices and other materials for use in vascular applications having a number of benefits including covalent attachment, not requiring intermediate linkers or chemistry; substrate independentworks on polymers, metals, ceramics, 3D shapes like stents, valves, etc.; bioactivity is retained; surface may retain greater bioactivity over time in vivo; Simultaneously supports endothelialization; can be stored for long periods, following freeze drying, and retains effectiveness when rehydrated and; surface is able to bind many fibrinolytic enzymes such as streptokinase, urokinase, tPA, plasmin).
METHOD FOR INTERNALLY COATING A LIQUID TEST SAMPLE COLLECTION DEVICE WITH AT LEAST ONE ANTICOAGULANT COMPOUND, AND DEVICES AND KITS RELATED THERETO
Methods, devices, and kits, related to embodiments for uniformly coating at least one inner surface of a capillary with at least one anticoagulant compound.
4% Trisodium Citrate Solution for Use as a Catheter Lock Solution
Provided herein are catheter lock solutions having anticoagulation and antimicrobial properties, the catheter lock solutions including citrate salts. The citrate salt can be trisodium citrate, and the catheter lock solution can further include a diluted acid for adjusting the pH of the catheter lock solution.
COATING FOR MEDICAL DEVICES
A coating for a medical device is described. The coating comprises: a base layer comprising a protein; and a polymer layer disposed on the base layer. The polymer layer comprises a polymer having a plurality of hemocompatible groups. Each hemocompatible group is independently selected from a sulfonic acid group, a sulfonamide group, a sulfamic acid group, a hydrogen sulfate group and a conjugate base thereof. Also described is a medical device comprising the coating, and uses and methods involving the coating and the medical device.
Bioactive coatings
Antimicrobial and antithrombogenic polymer or polymeric blend, compounds, coatings, and materials containing the same, as well as articles made with, or coated with the same, and methods of making the same exhibiting improved antimicrobial properties and reduced platelet adhesion. Embodiments include polymers with antimicrobial and antithrombogenic groups bound to a single polymer backbone, an antimicrobial polymer blended with an antithrombogenic polymer, and medical devices coated with the antimicrobial and antithrombogenic polymer or polymeric blend.
Prosthetic valves and related inventions
This invention relates to the design and function of a compressible valve replacement prosthesis, collared or uncollared, which can be deployed into a beating heart without extracorporeal circulation using a transcatheter delivery system. The design as discussed focuses on the deployment of a device via a minimally invasive fashion and by way of example considers a minimally invasive surgical procedure preferably utilizing the intercostal or subxyphoid space for valve introduction. In order to accomplish this, the valve is formed in such a manner that it can be compressed to fit within a delivery system and secondarily ejected from the delivery system into the annulus of a target valve such as a mitral valve or tricuspid valve.
New A-PRP Medical Device & Tissue Engineering Composition, Manufacturing Machines And Process
The present invention is related to the field of tissue regeneration. It concerns more particularly new manufacturing machines and processes, new A-PRP or PRP, hyaluronic acid and/or chitosan compositions, used alone or in combination, and related devices.
Treatment Systems Processes and Devices Addressing Cerebral Vasospasm/Vasoconstriction
Endovascular treatment of, for example, delayed cerebral vasospasm involves the placing of a microcatheter in the affected vessels followed by the teachings of the instant disclosure, which is clinically improved with comparison to stow infusion of a vasodilating compound. Systems, processes and self-expanding designed stents and stent-like members are featured whereas as stents and stent-like members are retrieved, nothing is left in the vessel.
PDGF-B /PDGF-BB BINDING VARIANTS OF HEPARAN SULFATES
Affinity purification of platelet-derived growth factor-binding heparan sulphate from porcine mucosa (HS6) is disclosed. Also disclosed is the use of HS6 in repair and regeneration of the skin for treating wounds, burns, ulcers and other skin injuries.
ANTI-THROMBOGENIC GRAFTS
The present invention provides anti-thrombogenic compositions, including anti-thrombogenic vascular grafts. In certain embodiments, the compositions comprise decellularized tissue coated with an anti-thrombogenic coating. The present invention also provides methods of preparing anti-thrombogenic compositions and methods of treatment comprising implanting the anti-thrombogenic compositions into a subject in need thereof.
