Disclosed is a pre-fabricated modular system for installation of both a vehicle restraint system and at least one item of street furniture; the system comprising at least one pre-fabricated foundation module comprising a plurality of attachment points for securely attaching a vehicle restraint system to the foundation module; and at least one pre-fabricated extension module, which comprises one or more attachment points for securely attaching at least one item of street furniture to the extension module; and wherein the extension module and the foundation module comprise cooperating surfaces such that the respective modules can be placed in frictional engagement with one another.

Guardrail post system

A subterranean housing and post system for connection to a traffic guardrail is disclosed. The housing comprises an interior space and a soil plate extending outward from the housing. The interior of the housing comprises a lower post guide, a lower post stop, and an upper post stop. A lower post has a U-channel shape with outwardly extending flanges. The lower post is insertable into the lower end of the housing, between the lower post guide and the housing body, with insertion limited by engagement with the lower post stop. An upper post has a U-channel shape with outwardly extending flanges. The upper post is insertable into the upper end of the housing, between the lower post and the housing body. Insertion of the upper post is limited by engagement with the upper post stop. The upper post is connectable to a guardrail.

ROAD EQUIPPED WITH ROAD SAFETY BARRIERS FIXED TO THE GROUND AND INSTALLATION METHOD THEREOF
20230407584 · 2023-12-21 · ·

The present invention relates to the installation of road safety barriers also known as guardrails; and indicates a real road system, including special safety barriers, in which each trait of the safety barrier can be installed with the reasonable certainty of compliance with the required safety requirements, and these requirements can be defined differently depending on the trait.

Furthermore, this road system, including special safety barriers, is associated with an innovative installation and maintenance method, which is not significantly more expensive than the methods currently practiced for the installation and maintenance of simple road barriers, in which the fixing of the uprights to the ground is done by simple infixion into the ground using a pile-driving machine.

The invention is characterized by an appropriate ground fixing system, which is integrated in said guardrail.

A bollard panel having adjacent bollards and a gap between the adjacent bollards, a brace having a panel connector, a first longitudinal section, and a second longitudinal section, and the brace supporting the bollard panel in a vertical position relative to a ground with the brace disposed in the gap with the first longitudinal section located on a first side of the bollard panel, the second longitudinal section located on a second side of the bollard panel, and the panel connector attached to the bollard panel.

Surrogate for metal guardrail

Surrogates for roadside objects, such as metal guardrails, can be used for vehicle testing. A surrogate for a metal guardrail can have substantially the same size and/or shape as the metal guardrail that the surrogate is mimicking. The surrogate can be configured to exhibit substantially the same characteristics as their actual counterpart metal guardrail when sensed by one or more vehicle sensors (e.g., cameras, radar sensors, and/or LIDAR sensors). Such surrogates can be used to test autonomous vehicles, one or more vehicle sensors, a vehicle sensor system, and/or one or more vehicle system (e.g., a road departure mitigation system). The surrogates can be configured to withstand being crashed into by a test vehicle without being damaged and without damaging the test vehicle.
