Anchorless crash cushion apparatus including crash cushion stabilizing structure
An anchorless crash cushion apparatus having a plurality of interconnected water-filled crash cushion elements and a non-water filled forward-most cushion element includes vehicle capture structure resisting upward tilting of a frontally impacting vehicle and ramping of the frontally impacting vehicle and stabilizing structure resisting relative rotation between the crash cushion elements in both vertical and lateral planes during vehicle impact. External elongated deformable structural members extend along the sides of the crash cushion elements and bend outwardly away from the crash cushion elements during frontal vehicle impact.
TELESCOPIC JERSEY BARRIER
The present subject matter provides a telescopic Jersey barrier, configured to easily and rapidly lengthen and shorten. The telescopic Jersey barrier includes multiple barrier units configured to be inserted one into the other. Additional embodiments of the telescopic Jersey barrier are described herein.
ROADWAY SAFETY DEVICE
A roadway safety device includes one or more spacers which engage a falling arm attached to a sign so as to lift the sign relative to a structure on which a housing bracket attached to the arm rests. The roadway safety device may include a spacer which dampens the fall of the arm and which holds the arm at an upward angle to make the sign more visible to drivers.
LOW-PROFILE BARRIER AND CONSTRUCTING METHOD THEREOF
The present disclosure relates to a low-profile barrier including a plurality of segments continuously arranged in the longitudinal direction and a connecting member installed in a connection portion, the connection portion between the segments configured to bend in the horizontal direction in order to effectively absorb impacts in the event of a vehicle collision, thereby ensuring safety of vehicles and vehicle occupants, and a method for constructing the same.
End treatments and transitions for water-ballasted protection barrier arrays
An end treatment array for crash attenuation includes a transition barrier module formed of side walls, end walls, a top wall, and a bottom wall, wherein the module walls together define an enclosed interior space. The end treatment array further includes a containment impact sled having an axially extending frame. The frame has a width sufficient to contain the transition barrier module within the frame when in an assembled configuration, and has an axial length which is at least one-half the length of the transition barrier module. The frame defines an interior volume, the purpose of which is to contain a substantial portion of the transition barrier module in the assembled configuration, and to contain debris caused by destruction of the plastic barrier modules in a vehicular impact. The containment impact sled is attached to the transition barrier module.
MULTIPURPOSE STACKABLE SELF-FILLING INTERLOCKING WATERTIGHT MODULAR BARRIER SYSTEM
Modular multipurpose, rapidly deployable, barriers that couple together into barrier walls and barrier blocks. The barrier walls are watertight, self-filling, and capable of being coupled horizontally without vertically lifting the barriers. The barriers are capable of being vertically and horizontally stacked in all directions while also allowing the stacked blocks to be offset and reinforced with poles, ropes and cables that thread through the stack vertically to support fencing and other materials. Horizontally, the barriers also permit poles, ropes and cables to be thread through the barriers greatly increasing their strength. The modular barriers are also stackable to be efficiently stored within truck and shipping container. The barriers may also be bullet proof.
Roadblock for temporary installation to block traffic and/or as a security precaution
The present invention relates to a roadblock for temporary installation to block traffic and/or as a security precaution, including: an elongated casing with two opposing longitudinal side walls and an, the two side walls joining, upper wall; and at least one casing support structure located in the elongate casing and connecting to both the side walls; supports for resting on the ground/surface connected to the lower side of the elongate casing and/or the lower side of the casing support structure, and plural stabilisation arms protruding from one of the longitudinal side walls.
Roadway safety barrier
Road safety barrier comprising: concrete bottom parts (1); concrete top parts (2) coupled on the bottom parts (1), and attaching means (3, 31) of the successive top parts (2) at their opposite ends. The bottom parts (1) have an upper surface provided with a longitudinal channel (11) for coupling in the longitudinal direction and with the possibility of limited vertical displacement of a longitudinal extension (21) protruding from a lower surface of the top parts (2); the channel (11) and the extension (21) have similar cross-sections and dimensions calculated so that the top part performs a lateral rotation of a determined amplitude, in the event of a vehicle impact, and absorbs a significant part of its kinetic energy.
Barrier Transition Framework
A barrier transition framework such as for use as a bridge transition, is disclosed for connection to a concrete anchor at an entrance, comprising a tubular upper transition chord having first and second beveled ends, and a tubular lower transition chord having first and second beveled ends. The first beveled ends of each of the upper and lower chords are welded to an approach deflector. The second beveled ends of each of the upper and lower chords are welded to an anchorage plate. A transition assembly is formed by connecting thrie-beams to the road-side of the transition framework. A thrie-beam may also be connected to the field-side of the transition framework. The disclosed transition framework provides a preassembled solid four bar structure with exceptional resistance to deflection in both the vertical and horizontal planes, that spans a greater distance than convention transitions.
VEHICLE BARRIER SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION THEREOF
A vehicle barrier system is provided. The system includes a barrier structure integrally connected to a moment slab. The barrier structure includes a front curb section connected to two side curb sections that each extend at an angle from the front curb section in a direction toward the moment slab. The front and side curb sections are formed by a casing into which concrete is poured. The barrier structure and moment slab are cast-in-place concrete structures. The barrier structure may be installed on top of an elevated structure so that a vehicle may back up to the front curb section and dump material from the elevated structure.
