Load distribution and absorption underlayment system with transition features
A load distributing and absorbing system that lies below a barrier layer that is exposed to percussive and/or point-applied forces. The load distributing and absorbing system has one or more load distributing and absorbing tiles. At least some of the tiles have an underlayment infrastructure positioned below a barrier layer. The underlayment infrastructure includes one or more hat-shaped absorbing members. Each has a ceiling primarily for load distribution and a curvilinear wall primarily for load absorption extending from the ceiling. A transition feature is provided to smoothly graduate from one height and type of load distributing and absorbing tile to a load distributing and absorbing tile of another type and height. He system distributes and absorbs forces applied to the barrier layer over a broad area when applied either on a seam between adjacent tiles or within a tile.
Removable swim-up dock bar
A removable swim-up dock bar is described. The dock bar is removably attachable to a submerged foundation of an existing dock and may have adjustable seats or adjustable legs to ensure proper height and stability.
UNIVERSAL FRAMING SYSTEM FOR A BOAT DOCK AND METHOD OF BUILDING A BOAT DOCK THEREFROM
A universal framing system for a boat dock generally includes at least one standardized dock frame. The standardized dock frame is in a rectangular shape. Each of the standardized dock frames include a standardized left side member, a standardized right side member, a standardized front end member, and a standardized back end member. The standardized left side member may be on a left side of the rectangular shape. The standardized right side member is on a right side of the rectangular shape. The standardized front end member is on a front end of the rectangular shape. The standardized back end member is on a back end of the rectangular shape. The standardized left side member, the standardized right side member, the standardized front end member, and the standardized back end member are configured to connect together to create the rectangular shape.
Dock management system
An apparatus manages a dock, a portion of which is disposed over a body of water, from a remote device. A control unit is disposed on the dock. A plurality of sensors is each in data communication with the control unit. Each of the plurality of sensors includes: an electric shock sensor; a water level sensor that senses a distance to the water from a predetermined location of the dock; and a theft detection circuit. A communication chipset is in data communication with the control unit. The control unit includes a processor that is programmed to transmit to the remote device via the communication chipset an indication of the following: a shock likelihood sensed by the electric shock sensor; a level detected by the water level sensor; and an alert when the theft detection circuit detects a likelihood of theft.
Harbour plant and method for mooring a floating body in a harbour plant
Various embodiments relate to a method and a harbour plant for mooring a floating body. The harbour plant includes a piled base structure provided with two upwards through sea level projecting sidewalls terminated above sea level and a laterally arranged bottom structure interconnecting the sidewalls, where a top surface of the bottom structure is arranged at a depth allowing the floating body to be floated in between the sidewalls, and where the floating body is arranged to be rigidly, but releasably supported by at least parts of the sidewalls. The method includes bringing the floating body into a position between the sidewalls and fixing rigidly the floating body to the vertical sidewalls of the base structure and still exposing the floating body more or less fully to buoyancy by allowing a water-filled gap at least between bottom of the floating body and a corresponding upper surface of the base structure.
Lighted piling cap
A lighted piling cap that is preferably solar powered and which serves as a cap/marker for another water borne or water related structure. The device can serve as a nighttime marker to alert boaters of decks, docks, waterway obstructions, etc. that may not be visible during nighttime travels. The device includes a solar powered lighting element for nighttime visibility which can be a plurality of LED light bulbs. The outer enclosure can be constructed from a rugged and/or seaworthy material, to allow it to be able to preferably withstand the harsh environment of fresh and saltwater coastlines. The device preferably includes a sealed Lithium polymer battery, with flash, strobing and/or “on” modes and an automatic sunset on, sunrise off sensor. The angled top member of the enclosure can be provided with a plurality of facet cuts which provide for prismatic reflection of sun rays for solar collection 180 degrees across the horizon.
Progressive stage load distribution and absorption underlayment system
A progressive stage load distributing and absorbing system that lies below a superstructure material which is exposed to percussive forces. The progressive stage load distributing and absorbing system is interposed between the superstructure material and a foundation. The system has a barrier layer that lies below the superstructure material and an underlayment infrastructure positioned below the barrier layer. Included in the underlayment infrastructure are hat-shaped absorbing members that have a relatively compliant stage subsystem and one or more relatively stiff stage subsystems.
Seabed base structure and method for installation of same
This publication relates to a shallow water terminal, preferably for storing and loading or unloading hydrocarbons, such as LNG, oil or gas. The base structure comprises a floatable, and removable seabed substructure (10) intended to be supported by a seabed (30), the seabed substructure (10) comprising a base structure (11) provided preferably with an upwards extending wall structure (22), arranged along at least a part of the periphery of the base structure (11), the base structure (10) preferably also being provided with an opening (23) in the wall structure (22) for allowing the floatable module to be berthed in and supported by the seabed substructure (10). The base structure (10) is provided with strong points (24) configured to receive the ends of preinstalled vertical piles (14) for at least temporary support of the base structure (11) during a piling operation for permanent piling of the base structure (10) to the sea bed (30). The publication also relates to a method for piling a base structure on or above a seabed (30).
Pergola shade system for a pier
A pergola shade system designed for use with a pier over water. The pergola shade system includes as its primary components a roof assembly, a framework to support the roof assembly above the pier, and an anchor assembly that removably and securely mounts the roof assembly and framework to the pier. The anchor assembly is constructed of components that permit the roof structure and framework of the pergola shade system to be both easily erected on a pier for use and easily disassembled from the pier for storage.
