FLOOD DEFENCE
A stowable flood barrier system comprising: first and second barrier modules each comprising a frame and a barrier panel pivotable with respect to the frame between a stowed position and a deployed position, in which deployed position a base of the barrier panel is sealed against the frame and a free edge of the barrier panel extends clear of the frame to present a barrier segment between lateral edges of the barrier panel, wherein the first and second barrier modules are sealable together in the deployed position along the lateral edges of their respective barrier panels to form a linked flood barrier.
Dynamically deployable low-visibility pneumatic cofferdam system, method and apparatus
A dynamically deployable, low visibility pneumatic cofferdam for flood mitigation is disclosed. The cofferdam includes a first planar component, a second planar component, an inflatable hermetic airbag sandwiched therebetween, and connection members attached to the first planar component, a second planar component to form a cofferdam unit. The connection members are adjustable to apply and maintain a desired amount of pressure on the airbag to enable a watertight seal to be formed. The cofferdam units may be sized and designed to sealingly mate adjacent cofferdam units in a variety of configurations to form watertight seals. The cofferdam units may also be sized and designed to attach to seawalls, flood walls, sidewalks, or other infrastructure. When in a deployed state, the height of the cofferdam may be adjusted to a desired height to provide flood mitigation. When in an undeployed state, the cofferdam remains in a substantially flat and unobtrusive position.
PROTECTIVE BARRIER SEGMENT FOR A TEMPORARY LIQUID-DAMMING PROTECTIVE BARRIER AS WELL AS PROTECTIVE BARRIER COMPRISING SUCH A PROTECTIVE BARRIER SEGMENT
Disclosed is a protective barrier segment for a temporary liquid-damming protective barrier configured for separating a flooded side from a protected side by abutting against a ground surface, the protective barrier segment including a liquid-damming member having a first surface facing the flooded side and a second surface facing the protected side. The protective barrier segment is characterized in that the liquid-damming member includes an opening connecting the flooded side and the protected side and in that the protective barrier segment further includes a pump arrangement, wherein the pump arrangement is located at the opening in sealed engagement with the liquid-damming member and wherein the pump arrangement, in use, pumps liquid from the protected side to the flooded side. Also disclosed is a protective barrier including such a protective barrier segment.

EMBEDMENTS FOR REINFORCEMENT OF STRUCTURAL INTERCONNECTIONS AND ATTACHMENT OF EXTERNAL COMPONENTS FOR TELESCOPIC STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS
An embedment system for modular telescoping barriers, the system comprising of a plurality of deployable modules arranged in a nested configuration. The plurality of deployable modules are each configured to telescopically slide vertically with respect to each other, so as to extend to a deployed position and retract into a collapsed position. A series of interlocking elements attached the plurality of deployable modules, used to lock the plurality of deployable modules at the deployed position. A series of embedment assemblies, each defined by a body and at least one anchor is embedded into the plurality of deployable modules. The body of the embedment assemblies each having a partial or through cavity to accommodate the at least one terminal opening of the plurality of deployable modules. The anchor of the embedment assemblies securely connects the body of the embedment assemblies to the plurality of deployable modules.
WATER FLOW CONTROL DEVICE
A water flow control device is provided that opens to allow water to leave a basin and pour into another pool of water. The water flow control device closes when the level in the pool of water is such that an influx of water could be returned to the basin. The water flow control device has a buoyancy apparatus that opens and closes the water flow control device based upon the level in the pool of water. The water flow control device also has a conveyance channel apparatus that directs water from the basin through the water flow control device in the event the buoyancy apparatus provides an opening to do so.

Watertight flexible flood barrier system
Disclosed is an improved flexible flood barrier system for creating a watertight barrier. The system includes a novel hinged clamping bar assembly configured to engage a hem of the fabric flood barrier. The fabric flood barrier is comprised of a waterproof layer reinforced with high strength webbing straps. The webbing straps are weaved together through slots in one of the layers without the need for stitching upon any of the waterproof layers. When deployed the improved fabric flood barrier system prevents storm surges from breaching the flexible flood barrier system at the attachment points.
