Hybrid permanent anchor
A hybrid permanent anchor is proposed. The hybrid permanent anchor includes: a fixed body disposed between a compression part and a tension part and coupling the compression part and the tension part to each other; the tension part coupled to a front end of the fixed body and transmitting tension to the permanent anchor when tensile stress is generated; the compression part coupled to a rear end of the fixed body and transmitting compressive force to the permanent anchor when compressive stress is generated; a PC steel strand coupled to a rear end of the compression part and having a protective pipe thereon; and an anchor head part fixing the permanent anchor to a structure.
Landscaping walls, systems and methods
Landscaping walls, systems and methods of manufacturing and installation of such walls include in aspects a fiberglass based wall having a decorative front side and a back side having at least one conduit where the conduit receives a cable or fastener extending outward from both ends of the conduit to connect to a stake to be inserted into ground adjacent the wall. The conduit in one aspect is a PVC tube mounted vertically against the wall and in aspects is embedded within the wall. The conduit allows for self-adjustment of the cable while also providing solid anchoring of the wall to prevent movement. The wall and system is lightweight, good looking and easy to install.
MODULAR BUILDING BLOCK APPARATUS
A modular building block apparatus for the construction of a coastal or river bank erosion defence or protection structure includes a plurality of blocks arranged in stacked rows, the blocks in each row having cooperating formations whereby the blocks in each row are interconnected with one another. Apertures formed in each block extend perpendicular to the rows, and a plurality of connector members extend through aligned apertures in adjacent rows of the blocks to interlock the rows to one another.
CONNECTOR FOR SOIL REINFORCING AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING
An apparatus, system and method of connecting an earthen formation to a facing of a mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) structure in which a connector includes a single piece of wire that defines an opening for coupling the connector to an anchor and a pair parallel legs for mechanically connecting the to a soil reinforcing element.
COMPOSITE REINFORCING STRIP
Composite reinforcing strip comprising: a covering capsule surrounding a plurality of longitudinal channels developing parallel to a longitudinal development direction of the composite reinforcing strip and arranged in sequence between opposite lateral ends of said composite reinforcing strip, a plurality of longitudinal reinforcing fibres arranged inside reinforcing channels of the plurality of longitudinal channels, and a plurality of longitudinal permeable fibres arranged inside at least one permeable channel of the plurality of longitudinal channels.
The covering capsule has, at least at an upper surface of the covering capsule opposite to a lower surface of the covering capsule, a plurality of surface openings leading to the at least one permeable channel so as to define a fluid communication between the plurality of longitudinal permeable fibres and an external environment.
Retaining wall system with deadman
The present invention is directed to a retaining wall system including a retaining wall having with at least one retaining wall rebar extending along a vertical direction, the at least one retaining wall rebar includes an end formed into a first retaining wall rebar hook, at least one deadman spaced from the retaining wall, each deadman including a concrete base extending along the vertical direction, the concrete base including rebar extending past the concrete base and having an end formed into a deadman rebar hook, at least a first hole at a top portion of the retaining wall and extending into the retaining wall to expose the retaining wall rebar hook, and a first cable attached to the retaining wall rebar hook and to the deadman rebar hook to support the retaining wall.
Erosion control apparatus
The present invention relates to an erosion control apparatus and methods of using and installing the apparatus. The apparatus is constructed to prevent erosion of soil during typical weather conditions and adverse weather events. The apparatus can include a plurality of anchored rolls and soil lifts operative to stabilize the shoreline.
MECHANICALLY STABILIZED EARTH (MSE) RETAINING WALL EMPLOYING ROUND RODS WITH SPACED PULLOUT INHIBITING STRUCTURES
Various embodiments of a mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) retaining wall that employ, for reinforcement, round rods with spaced pullout inhibiting structures (for example, round planar disks) are disclosed. The MSE retaining wall has at least one concrete panel. The panel has a generally planar body with a frontside, a backside, and a surrounding peripheral edge. The MSE retaining wall has at least one round, steel rod, the rod having a generally cylindrical elongated body with first and second ends. The first end is attached to the panel, and the elongated body and second end reside within backfill soil against the backside of the panel. The MSE retaining wall further includes at least one steel, pullout inhibiting structure residing along the elongated body of the rod. The pullout inhibiting structure has a body with a surface region that spans in a transverse radial direction from the elongated body of the rod. The rod passes through the body of the pullout inhibiting structure.
