Method for manufacturing a stone retaining wall block
A method for manufacturing modular retaining wall blocks in natural stone, wherein the blocks are trapezoidal blocks having top and bottom surfaces with channels that receive offset connectors in multiple orientations for building upright, offset, and curved walls. Stone from a quarry is cut or split to form substantially rectangular elongate blocks having top and bottom surfaces, opposed side faces, and opposed ends. A series of channels running parallel to the side faces is cut in each of the surfaces, the top channels lying across from the bottom channels but offset therefrom. The elongate blocks are then cut between opposing pairs of channels to form trapezoidal blocks having front and rear faces.
Construction method for band type fiber reinforcing material for reinforced-soil retaining-wall
The present invention relates to a method of constructing a band type fiber reinforcement material for a reinforced-soil retaining-wall structure which enables quick and easy connection of a band type fiber reinforcing material, provides various connection methods therefor, and prevents stress from being concentrated in a connection part with a facing member during the sinking of a reinforced soil body, including: inserting a band type fiber reinforcement material into reinforcement material insertion members provided in facing members standing at a front of a reinforced soil mass (G) such that the facing members are adjacent to each other in leftward and rightward directions; spreading the band type fiber reinforcement material on the reinforced soil mass and laying and hardening a backfill material on the band type fiber reinforcement material and the reinforced soil mass; and repeatedly carrying out the first step and the second step until a predetermined height is reached.
EROSION CONTROL APPARATUS
The present invention relates to an erosion control apparatus and methods of using and installing the apparatus. The apparatus is constructed to prevent erosion of soil during typical weather conditions and adverse weather events. The apparatus can include a plurality of anchored rolls and soil lifts operative to stabilize the shoreline.
STRIP-TYPE REINFORCING MATERIAL AND REINFORCING MATERIAL ASSEMBLY COMPRISING SAME
Provided are a strip-type reinforcing material and a reinforcing material assembly having the same. The strip-type reinforcing material includes: strip bases extending in one direction and made of a flexible material; and resistance means protruding from respective upper and lower parts of the strip bases. Multiple resistance means are provided along the strip bases. The resistance means includes: a first resistance part protruding from the upper parts of the strip bases and having an opening being open in a direction parallel to a longitudinal direction of the strip bases; and a second resistance part protruding from the lower parts of the strip bases and having an opening being open in an opposite direction to the opening of the first resistance part.
EROSION CONTROL APPARATUS
The present invention relates to an erosion control apparatus and methods of using and installing the apparatus. The apparatus is constructed to prevent erosion of soil during typical weather or tidal conditions and adverse weather events. The apparatus can include a plurality of anchored rolls and soil lifts operative to stabilize the shoreline.
Anchoring systems and methods for mechanically stabilized earthen walls
An anchoring system for a mechanically stabilized earthen structure having an earthen structure and at least one reinforced concrete wall panel having a concrete portion and a rebar structure. The anchoring system has at least one anchor pocket, at least one anchor structure, and at least one anchor strap. The at least one anchor pocket is arranged within the concrete portion of the at least one reinforced concrete wall panel. The at least one anchor structure has at least one anchor portion. The at least one anchor structure is arranged within the concrete portion of the at least one reinforced concrete wall panel such that the at least one anchor portion is accessible within the at least one anchor pocket. The at least one anchor strap that engages the earthen structure and the at least one anchor portion.
Retaining wall block
A retaining wall block generally comprises a block body having a front face with a plurality of support legs extending rearward therefrom, opposed first and second side surfaces, and opposed and substantially parallel upper and lower surfaces. A preferred leg spacing of side support legs allows the side legs of each successive course of blocks to rest on the side legs of the prior-laid rows, while allowing the center legs to float freely. The free-floating center leg may allow attachment of additional stabilization means to the center leg without preventing the blocks from resting directly on the course below.
Seawall
A seawall constructed to provide an improved installation method and further provide a more resistant structure wherein the elements of the present invention are combined with an ultra high performance concrete to create the seawall of the present invention. The seawall includes a plurality of wall panel members wherein the wall panel members have a plurality of cells formed therein wherein the cells are hollow and extend between the upper edge and lower edge of the wall panel member. Wall panel connection members are configured to mateably couple adjacent wall panel members. The present invention further includes piling members configured to be journaled into the cells of the wall panel members and penetrate the ground underneath the wall panel member. A sub-cap member is superposed the wall panel member and is integrally formed therewith subsequent pouring of concrete. A top cap member is operably coupled to the sub-cap member.
Systems and methods for preventing lateral soil migration into a void space of a lifted foundation
To prevent lateral soil migration beneath a slab foundation lifted over a ground surface, a plurality of skirts are placed in the ground surface to define a foundation perimeter. A slab foundation is formed within an interior space of the foundation perimeter. The plurality of skirts are secured to the slab foundation via one or more anchors protruding from a portion of each skirt toward the interior space of the foundation perimeter. The slab foundation is raised above the ground surface to create a void that permits vertical expansion of soil without subjecting the slab foundation varying forces associated with the dynamic nature of the soil. The plurality of skirts are raised along with the slab foundation and operate as a barrier that circumscribes the void space and resists lateral soil migration into the void from the exterior of the foundation perimeter.
SHEET PILE RETAINING WALL SYSTEM
A sheet pile retaining wall system employing corrugated sheet piles not requiring temporary shoring to be used when widening and/or stabilization of existing highway embankment. The wall system provides a front face wall having a plurality of resistance fins perpendicularly extending therefrom via three-way connectors. The fin sheet piles first include a brace fin sheet for reducing stresses in the front face wall, then a series of additional resistance fin sheets terminating at an elevation below the face wall for accommodating a pipe drainage/utility cradle. Between the slope of the existing embankment, a temporary excavation bench, an excavation backslope, and the higher front face wall is reinforced concrete backfill for pre-stressing the wall system when fluidand, when set, optionally engaging supplementary structural features within the set concrete backfill such as dowels/tie down anchors.
