MANWAY OPEN AND CLOSE ASSIST DEVICE
A manway open and close assist device that is operably connected to at least one upper hinge attachable to a manway cover and a lower hinge attached to a vessel or tank. The device comprises. A disc-like piston is mounted on a threaded input screw and at least one anti-rotation member to provide linear translation of the piston due to rotation of the input screw. A cylindrical and tubular housing that receives the threaded input screw, the anti-rotation member, and the piston, wherein the housing has a plurality of helical grooves disposed in its inner surface that receive teeth on the outer surface of the piston. The housing may be fixed to the upper hinge member(s) and a rotation of the housing and attached hinge member(s) is effectuated by rotating the input screw and resulting linear movement of the piston to open and close the manway cover.
VERTICAL MANHOLE APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING ACCESS TO LEACHATE COLLECTION PIPES IN A LANDFILL
A vertical manhole apparatus for use in a waste facility to provide access to one or more leachate collection pipe access points. The vertical manhole is stabilized using stabilizing features extending out from a vertical pipe of the vertical manhole apparatus.
FRAME AND COVER FOR INGROUND UTILITY ENCLOSURES
Described are hatch assemblies comprising a frame having sidewalls, a pivotally connected cover, and a number of easily repairable and replaceable torsion-spring-assisted hinge assemblies. Hinge assemblies may comprise a torsion spring having a coiled body along the center axis of which a carriage bolt is inserted. Once one end of the torsion spring that extends vertically from the center axis is engaged by a support member, such as a semi-open enclosure that is mounted on a hinge plate, the spring is rotated and supports the torque generated by the weight of the cover when operated by a user. Advantageously, this provides for a controlled and almost effortless opening and closing of a heavy door or covers of hatch assemblies.
Cover Grate for Well-Site Cellars
A system and method for protecting workers, vehicles, and well-heads by enclosing well-site cellars with a series of framed plates. Each plate is perforated and configured for lifting with holes for hoisting the plates. Each plate is lipped to be retained by longitudinal edges of the cellar. A plurality of plates supports a platform for supporting a pipe wrangler adjacent a cellar based wellbore.
Cover of traps or manholes equipped with a mechanism for lifting and horizontally translating the cover
A cover (1) for manholes or traps is described, equipped with a mechanism for lifting and horizontally translating the cover (1), the mechanism being actuated through actuating means (10, 11, 12), and being adapted to automatically lift and afterwards horizontally translate or rotate the cover (1) to which it is operatively connected in order to completely open the manhole or trap.
Emergency opening device for a closure
An integrated system for releasing trapped persons in a vehicle (PARIS) includes a central management unit (CPU) to which sensors (D1, D2, . . . Dn), an input-output socket (S) for connecting a service computer and control switches or buttons, and at least the following are connected at an output of the central management unit: an automatic seatbelt cutting system (SBC), a system for automatically opening door locks and bolts and locking them in the open position (LOB), and a system for automatically swinging doors and locking them in the open position (DOB).
Pick hole guard for manhole covers
Pick hole guards are provided for use in guarding pick holes on manhole covers. In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the pick hole guards can have a base, biasing member, and guard member. The biasing member can be attached to the base and guard member, and can bias the guard member toward a pick hole on the manhole cover to guard the pick hole. In other embodiments, the pick hole guards do not have movable guard members, but instead have retaining surfaces to serve as a receptacle for catching waste disposed through a pick hole.
Locatable slab assembly
A locatable slab assembly for overlying a manhole cover located beneath a lowermost surface of a pavement. The locatable slab assembly includes a slab body, a tubular member, a protective plug, and an electronic marker. The slab body is deposed to permit a central line of the slab body in line with a center line of the manhole cover. The electronic marker is configured to permit a region of the pavement in alignment with the center line of the manhole cover to be located. The locatable slab assembly together with the pavement thereon can be lifted to permit access of the manhole cover.
Controlled pressure release manhole cover assembly
A manhole cover assembly includes a manhole cover and a latch assembly. The manhole cover is movable between a seated position in which the manhole cover is supported on a seat of a manhole frame, and an unseated position in which the manhole cover is displaced relative to the seat of the manhole frame. A shock absorber includes a housing fixedly coupled to the manhole cover. The housing defines a cylinder. A piston is slidably coupled to the cylinder. A rod is fixedly coupled to the piston. A spring is positioned within the cylinder adjacent the piston. A latch is fixedly coupled to the rod. In response to a pressure applied to the manhole cover, the latch assembly is configured to permit limited displacement of the manhole cover relative to the seat of the manhole frame, and to controllably dissipate energy relating to the pressure.
