TUBULAR INSERT FOR EXCAVATED HOLE WITH SAFETY COVER
20170314286 · 2017-11-02 ·

A tubular insert sleeve system comprises a tubular insert sleeve for insertion into an excavated hole and a snug fitting and removable safety cover adapted to extend over the upper end of the tubular insert sleeve in order to cover the excavated hole. One or more sleeve fastening apertures are defined through the tubular insert sleeve adjacent the upper end thereof, and are adapted to receive one or more vermiform fasteners for fastening the safety cover to the tubular insert sleeve. Preferably, the sleeve fastening apertures are in the form of handles. In some embodiments, one or more cover fastening apertures are defined through the safety cover and the cover fastening aperture(s) cooperate with the sleeve fastening aperture(s) to receive the vermiform fastener(s) to fasten the safety cover to the tubular insert sleeve.

Manhole cover locks, lockable manhole covers, and methods for locking a manhole cover

A locking assembly attachable to a manhole cover includes an arm disposable in a lowered position with the arm disposed in a first orientation engageable with a manhole frame supporting the manhole cover to inhibit removal of the manhole cover from a manhole frame, and disposable in a raised position and in a second orientation operable to allow removal of the manhole cover from the manhole frame. In an embodiment, the locking assembly may include the arm attached to a movable member having a spiral, helix, or curved groove and in which the movable arm is receivable in a bushing and a pin receivable in the groove.

Closure for locking a covering

Coverings for structures which can be installed in the ground are known. In order to lock the covering on the structure, closures are known which comprise a snap bolt which is designed in such a way and is mounted movably on the covering (20) against the force of a spring device in such a way that, during closing of the covering (20), the snap bolt is forced back and snaps in behind a counterbearing (14, 14) fixed to the structure in a closure position. To simplify the arrangement and also to improve durability, it is proposed that the snap bolt is mounted in a housing (40) which can be fastened in a housing receptacle of the covering (20).

LOCKING COVER FOR CONSTRUCTION VAULT

A locking cover apparatus for construction vaults. The cover has a latch portion configured to rotate in a first and second direction when a threaded locking security bolt is rotated in the first and second direction respectively, and where the cover is locked from removal from the vault when the latch portion comes into contact with a first stop mechanism after rotating in the first direction and wherein the cover is unlocked when the latch portion comes into contact with a second stop mechanism after rotating in the second direction.

UNDERGROUND SECURITY BARRIER
20170167107 · 2017-06-15 ·

The present invention relates to a secure barrier for an underground valve box. The device may have a bolt and a nut for adjusting the length of the bolt to position curved plates to press against the inner circumference of a cylindrical valve box. The bolt housing may include a flange that protrudes through a slot in a horizontal metal plate. The plate may have handles for ease of lifting and replacement of the plate. The protruding flange may feature a hole for insertion of a padlock. When the padlock is secured, the plate cannot be removed from the cylindrical valve box as the adjustable bolt housing cannot move sufficiently to retract the curved plates from the inner cylindrical surface of the valve box. Thus, only authorized personnel with the proper padlock key or combination can operate the valve, deterring vandals.

Pick hole guards are provided for use in guarding pick holes on manhole covers. In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the pick hole guards can have a base, biasing member, and guard member. The biasing member can be attached to the base and guard member, and can bias the guard member toward a pick hole on the manhole cover to guard the pick hole. In other embodiments, the pick hole guards do not have movable guard members, but instead have retaining surfaces to serve as a receptacle for catching waste disposed through a pick hole.

MANHOLE COVER ASSEMBLY
20170081822 · 2017-03-23 · ·

A manhole cover assembly includes a manhole cover supportable by a manhole frame. The manhole cover defines a latch bore having a longitudinal axis. A latch housing extends from the manhole cover, and a latch assembly is positioned at least partially therein. A first end of a latch yoke extends through the latch bore and slidably couples the latch yoke to the manhole cover along the longitudinal axis. A latch member is rotatably coupled to the second end of the latch yoke about a first transverse axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The latch member is also rotatably coupled to the latch housing about a second transverse axis spaced from the first transverse axis. The latch member is selectively rotatable relative to the latch housing about the second transverse axis, between a locked position and an unlocked position, via sliding the latch yoke relative to the manhole cover.
