An apparatus that disinfects hand-held devices has a sealed interior disinfecting chamber designed to fit handheld devices of various sizes and surround them with disinfectant in a gaseous state. The base of the interior chamber has vertically disposed pegs of equal height that serve as an aerated pedestal on which to place a handheld device to allow gas to circulate beneath and around it. A fan evaporates disinfectant from the sealed chamber prior to unsealing the chamber.

Methods of Cleaning Enclosed Spaces of Contaminants
20230398250 · 2023-12-14 ·

A method and corresponding apparatus for cleaning an enclosed space by in situ generation and distribution of hypochlorous acid. The method includes selecting an apparatus comprising a container, placing the apparatus in the enclosed space, activating generation of hypochlorous acid from the container of the apparatus, distributing hypochlorous acid throughout the enclosed space as the hypochlorous acid is generated; and allowing the distributed hypochlorous acid to dwell in the enclosed space for an effective time.

DISINFECTION SYSTEM AND METHODS USING NITRIC ACID VAPOR

A disinfection system including an enclosed chamber and a source of a disinfecting vapor connected to the enclosed chamber, wherein the disinfecting vapor includes nitric acid. Methods of disinfecting a contaminated article are also described, the methods including placing the contaminated article within an enclosed chamber of a disinfection system and exposing the contaminated article within the enclosed chamber to a source of a disinfecting vapor including nitric acid for an exposure time sufficient to disinfect the contaminated article by achieving a reduction in colony forming units of the disinfected contaminated article relative to the contaminated article. Exposing the contaminated article within the enclosed chamber to the source of the disinfecting vapor may include alternately exposing the contaminated article to the disinfecting vapor for a first time interval, and exposing the contaminated article to a water vapor for a second time interval.

DECONTAMINATION METHOD

A decontamination method is a decontamination method for decontaminating the inside of a decontamination target by removing at least one of microorganisms and viruses present in the decontamination target. This decontamination method includes a step of releasing vapor containing peracetic acid into the decontamination target, without releasing mist containing peracetic acid. An average humidity inside the decontamination target during decontamination is RH82% or more. A peracetic acid vapor load that is a value obtained by adding a concentration of peracetic acid in the vapor every minute from a start of decontamination to a completion of decontamination is 2000 ppm or more.
