MODULAR ULTRA LOW DRAG SUB-SURFACE MEMBRANE INSTALLATION APPARATUS, MACHINE, AND METHODS WITH VARIOUS AUTOMATED AND SEMI-AUTOMATED SUB-SYSTEMS INCLUDING SUB-SURFACE DRIP TAPE INSTALLATION
A sub-surface membrane deposition device including a movable frame, at least one chisel attached to the frame, hydraulics to raise and lower the at least one chisel from the frame, and a membrane deployable to a sub-surface level by the at least one chisel as the movable frame is moved. Also provided is a method of deposing a membrane to a sub-surface level that includes providing a movable frame, at least one chisel attached to the frame, hydraulics to raise and lower the at least one chisel from the frame, and a membrane. The method including lowering the at least one chisel with the hydraulics to the sub-surface level, moving the frame and at least one chisel forward, and deploying the membrane to the sub-surface level with the at least one chisel.
Buoyant Mechanical Liquid Level Control
A liquid level control system, which may be used with a clarifier in a sewage treatment plant, manages liquid level of an upstream basin by controlling liquid flow in or out of a system that may use a midstream device to equally distribute flow in or out of the basin. This headloss inducing device creates a non-linear relationship between upstream liquid level to be controlled and the lesser downstream liquid level behind the gate or valve. Without the use of electrical controls, the systems of the invention include a gate or valve with counterforces that manage the outflow stream of liquid while accounting for the non-linear head loss created by the midstream device, thus reaching a desired liquid level range for all system flowrates.
Jet trenching system
A jetting system for an undersea trencher has jetting conduits extending aftward of its trench-cutting jetting swords. Jetting conduit nozzles direct liquid radially from their jetting conduits into the trench after the trench is excavated by the jetting sword cutting nozzles. The jetting conduits direct sufficient liquid into the trench to maintain the mix of trenched soil and water in the trench along the length of the conduits at not more than a super-critical density, extending the distance in which the product being laid in the trench is able to descend in the trench and increasing the likelihood that the product will be buried at the intended trench depth.
Trenching system with hydraulically adjustable hub
A system for uncovering a trench. The system comprises several subsystems, including a work machine and a frame for providing a seal with the surface to be trenched with a saw blade contained therein. The blade is supported on a hub which is slidably movable relative to the frame by operation of a linear actuator, which may be a hydraulic cylinder or the like. The vertical location of the blade within the frame is continuously adjustable to create a deeper or shallower trench. A monitoring system is provided to monitor the vertical location from an operator station.
ROADWAY ACCESS HOLE CUTTER AND METHOD OF CUTTING A SQUARE OR RECTANGULAR ROADWAY ACCESS HOLE
A roadway access hole drill for cutting a square or rectangular access hole in a roadway having a first saw opposing a second saw and a third saw opposing a fourth saw. A method of cutting a microtrench in which the buried utility is exposed by opening a square or rectangular access hole in a roadway above the buried utility using the roadway access hole drill that is controlled by a computer system connected to an under-roadway detection unit that detects a buried utility and stops movement of the drill to avoid damaging the buried utility.
TRENCHLESS SYSTEM FOR THE SUBSURFACE DELIVERY OF A POLYMER-BASED MESH
A trenchless system for subsurface delivery of a polymer-based mesh to protect an underground structure is provided. The system includes: a body for moving above the ground and over the underground structure while the system delivers the mesh below the ground; a polymer mesh supply coupled to the body and configured to supply the mesh during the moving of the body; and a ripper assembly coupled to the body and configured to move through the ground in response to the moving of the body without digging a trench and while receiving and delivering the supplied mesh below the ground and above the underground structure to protect the underground structure. In an embodiment, the polymer mesh supply includes a polymer mesh spool configured to rotate during the moving of the body in order to supply the mesh. A method of trenchless subsurface delivery of the mesh is also provided.
Laying Machine and a Blade Assembly
The present invention relates to a laying machine for laying at least one flexible casing or tube, cable or wire including: a blade arrangement for making a trench in the ground, a consolidation and laying means being arranged behind the blade arrangement, for clearing and safe-guarding the trench from collapsing while laying at least one flexible casing or tube, cable or wire into the trench. A blade assembly comprising compartments for cooling fluid and air.
FLEXIBLE IN-GROUND SHIELD APPARATUS
A flexible in-ground shield includes a first wall, a second wall, a third wall, a plurality of shoring members, and a plurality of pivoting couplers. The first wall is disposed on a first side of the flexible in-ground shield, the second wall is disposed on a second side of the flexible in-ground shield, and the third wall is disposed on a third side of the flexible in-ground shield and coupled to the first and second walls. The plurality of shoring members extend between the first wall and the second wall, and the plurality of pivoting couplers, coupled to ends of the plurality of shoring members, respectively, allow the first wall and the second wall to pivot relative to the third wall.
ROADWAY ACCESS HOLE CUTTER HAVING A UTILITY AVOIDANCE SAFETY DEVICE, METHOD OF CUTTING A HOLE IN A ROADWAY, METHOD OF CUTTING A HORIZONTAL HOLE UNDER A ROADWAY
A method of cutting a microtrench in which the buried utility is exposed by opening an access hole in a roadway above the buried utility using a roadway access hole drill that is controlled by a computer system connected to an under-roadway detection unit that detects a buried utility and stops movement of the drill to avoid damaging the buried utility. Also provided is a method of drilling a substantially horizontal hole under a roadway using a horizontal drill that is controlled by a computer system connected to an under-roadway detection unit that detects a buried utility and stops movement or changes direction of the drill to avoid damaging the buried utility.
Apparatus and Method for Installing Subsurface Tubing
An apparatus for installing multiple strands of hose below a surface of terrain is provided. The apparatus comprises a chassis and rotating trenching blade assemblies connected to the chassis. The trenching blade assemblies are configured to dig parallel trenches when the apparatus is pulled along the terrain. Curved hose guides are connected to the chassis in trailing positions behind the trenching blades. Each hose guide receives hose from a hose reel on reel mounts connected to the chassis and deposits the hose into a trench dug by a trenching blade assembly. Trench fillers connected to the chassis trail the hose guides. Each trench filler is aligned with a respective hose guide and comprises a number of blades configured to push soil excavated from a trench back into the trench when the apparatus is pulled along the terrain.
