A combination bit and bit holder assembly includes a bit holder having a forward body portion and a shank. The forward body portion includes an upper end and a lower end. An insert is mounted in the bore of the upper end of the body portion. The insert also includes a central bore that receivingly retains a receiving cup. The receiving cup includes a bottom portion and an annular flange that extends from the bottom portion and defines a hollow forward portion. A bit is mounted in the hollow forward portion of the receiving cup which is configured to have a ductility that provides impact absorption to the bit.

Three-sided shimable indexable shear tip boot

A one piece three-sided hardened steel boot tip for a distal end upper jaw tang of a heavy duty demolition shear having a upper movable shear jaw with a shear tip or tang. The boot tip has a front wall seated on the tang front edge and a right sidewall. A bottom wall of the boot tip is seated on the tang bottom seat forming a shear punching edge between the front wall and the bottom wall. A sidewall is connected to the tang bottom and front walls with a shearing edge between the side and bottom walls. A side plate with an indexing hub is seated on the guide side tang face, the top seat and the rear seat.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DETECTING HEAVY MACHINE WEAR

Methods and systems for detecting heavy machine wear. One system includes a heavy machine tooth of an industrial machine having a working end and a mounting end opposite the working end. The system also includes a wear indicator included in the tooth. The wear indicator includes a conductive tip, a conductive outer body extending along at least a length of the tooth, a conductive inner core positioned within the outer body, and insulating material positioned between the outer body and the inner core. The conductive tip is positioned between the working end of the tooth and the outer body and electrically couples the outer body and the inner core to form an electric circuit. The system also includes a transmitter included in the tooth. The transmitter transmits a state of the electric circuit.

TOOL HAVING A HARD MATERIAL
20180258618 · 2018-09-13 · ·

The invention relates to a tool having a hard material for processing mineral and/or plant-based material layers, in particular of traffic areas and/or agricultural floor areas or combinations thereof with one another. According to the invention, at least one part of the cutting element is formed or covered with a hard material containing fullerite or formed from fullerite. The wear resistance of the tool can be significantly improved by the extremely hard material.

TOOL FOR WORKING ABRASIVE MATERIALS

A tool for processing abrasive materials, in particular rocks, sand or ores, may include a main tool body and a hard metal plate positioned on the main tool body. A build-up weld may be applied to a surface of the hard metal plate and to the main tool body to bond the hard metal plate to the main tool body. Further, a method for producing or treating such a tool may involve positioning the hard metal plate on the main tool body and applying a build-up weld to the hard metal plate and the main tool body such that the hard metal plate is attached to the main tool body.
