REMOVAL OF ORGANIC CONTAMINATION BY OZONE OXIDATION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SENSOR INTEGRATION
20200237947 · 2020-07-30 ·

A portable communication device includes an apparatus for environmental sensing. The apparatus includes a housing, one or more environmental sensors and an ozone source. The housing includes one or more ports for allowing air flow between the surrounding environment and a cavity of the housing. The environmental sensors are coupled to the housing and can sense an environmental agent included in the air flow. The ozone source can generate ozone gas within the cavity of the housing to decompose unwanted organic compounds inside the port.

LIQUID-CHEMICAL STERILIZATION SYSTEM WITH BIOLOGICAL INDICATOR

A sterilization system includes a vial, a carrier of microorganisms disposed in the vial, and a fluid management system having an output connectable to the vial for delivering a liquid chemical sterilant and a neutralizer thereto. Additionally, a growth medium may be delivered to the vial such that the vial and growth medium may assessed for a change to a visual characteristic indicative of sterilization inefficacy.

BIOLOGICAL INDICATOR FOR LIQUID-CHEMICAL STERILIZATION SYSTEM

Disclosed herein are biological indicators suitable for use in a liquid-chemical sterilization process that may be conducted by an automated endoscope reprocessor. The biological indicator may include one or more ports for introducing and removing a liquid-chemical sterilant therefrom. The biological indicators may include features, such as a declivity leading to a port opening or a pipette, that may assist in transferring the liquid-chemical sterilant. The system may additionally include a holder having features that facilitate use of the system and biological indicators.

REPROCESSING CASE

A reprocessing case may be used to assist in reprocessing an instrument, such as an endoscope in an automated reprocessor. The reprocessing case may include various features such that the case may include and be transitioned between a closed configuration, an open configuration, and a disinfection configuration. In particular the reprocessor may transition the case to a disinfection configuration during a reprocessing procedure.
