MEDIA SANITIZING CASSETTE AND METHOD OF OPERATION

A valuable media sanitizing/cleansing cassette is provided for sanitizing/cleansing surfaces of valuable media dispensed to a consumer during a dispense transaction at a transaction terminal. Dispensed media is urged from one or more media cassettes within the terminal along a transport path. The transport path is altered to pass the media through the sanitizing/cleansing cassette where the top and bottom surfaces of the media are illuminated with Ultraviolet (UV) radiation to eradicate any bacteria or virus that may be adhered to the top or the bottom surfaces of the media. Once the media passes through the sanitizing/cleansing cassette, the now sanitized/cleansed media is urged along a remainder of the transport path and dispensed from a media interface of the terminal to the consumer. In an embodiment, media deposited at the terminal is also sanitized/cleansed by passing through the sanitizing/cleansing cassette before being stored in the appropriate media cassettes.

An ultraviolet (UV) light sanitizing system includes an electromagnetic interference (EMI) reducing cover configured to couple to a housing of a UV lamp assembly having a UV light source that is configured to emit UV light through a light outlet of the housing. The EMI reducing cover is further configured to be disposed one or more of within, below, or over the light outlet. The EMI reducing cover includes one or more grids including beams and light openings defined between the beams. The light openings provide open areas through which the UV light emitted from the UV light source passes, and wherein the EMI reducing cover includes at least 90% open space. In at least one embodiment, the beams include at least one surface that is transverse to a direction of the UV light that is to be emitted from the UV light source. In at least one embodiment, wherein the EMI reducing cover includes an interior grid and an exterior grid.

Sterilization tray

A sterilization tray is disclosed herein. A medical instrument, such as an endoscope, may be placed into the sterilization tray, and the sterilization tray with the medical instrument disposed therein may be placed into a vacuum chamber of a sterilization system. The sterilization tray may also be used to transport the medical instrument to and from a point of care. Sterilization is performed with the instrument in the base component and the lid component disposed atop the base component. Transportation is performed with the instrument in the lid component and the base component disposed atop the lid component.

METHODS FOR DISINFECTION
20170354144 · 2017-12-14 ·

The present disclosure relates to methods and system for disinfecting surfaces within an area by forming peracids in a reaction layer in situ on the surfaces to be disinfected. Aqueous compositions comprising peracid reactant compounds, particularly hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid, are sequentially dispersed into the area, preventing peracids from being formed until the two peracid reactant compounds contact each other on the surface to be disinfected. Additionally, aqueous compositions containing peracid reactant compounds can further comprise ethanol to both decrease the surface tension of the droplets and enhance the reactants' biocidal activity. Peracid reactant compounds can be sequentially dispersed as electrostatically-charged droplets, so that droplets of a first aqueous composition containing at least one peracid reactant compound are dispersed with a polarity opposite that of a subsequently-applied second aqueous composition containing at least one peracid reactant compound, driving formation of a peracid on the surface in situ.

Methods and system for disinfection

The present disclosure relates to methods and system for disinfecting surfaces within a volumetric space by forming peracids in a reaction layer in situ directly on the surfaces to be disinfected. Particularly, a peroxide compound and an organic acid are sequentially dispersed into the volumetric space, preventing peracids from being formed until the two reactants contact each other on the surface to be disinfected. In some embodiments, any of the dispersed aqueous compositions can optionally be electrostatically charged. Additionally, a system for sequentially dispersing the peracid reactant compounds by electrostatic spraying is provided.

SINGLE-PAIR EARPHONE STERILIZER WITH GERMICIDAL LIGHT
20170319725 · 2017-11-09 ·

Apparatus and methods include a single-pair earphone sterilize with germicidal light. Embodiments include a housing and a germicidal light source. The apparatus may include circuitry, such as power, to support the germicidal light source and a divider to shield the circuitry from the germicidal light source. The apparatus may also include attachment portions to position and maintain earphones in a position relative to the germicidal light source.

Multi-panel sterilization assembly with transport adhesive

The multi-panel sterilization assembly includes a barrier panel formed of permeable material having barrier properties, side wings that can include grip portions for folding or unfolding the barrier panel; and a fold protection panel. The assembly has at least one pull tab attached to an end of the barrier panel to aid in unfolding the assembly after sterilization. At least one wing and/or pull tab is held in place against the barrier panel during manufacturing with a transient adhesive that loses strength such that the wing or pull tab is easily pulled off the barrier panel after sterilization.

STERILIZATION DEVICE

A sterilization device includes: a reservoir, a supply port, an output port and a light source. The reservoir part includes a first half reservoir part having a substantially hemispherical shape and located on an upstream side in a flow direction of the fluid at the supply port, and a second half reservoir part having a substantially hemispherical shape and located on a downstream side in the flow direction. The supply port opens to the first half reservoir part. The output port opens to the second half reservoir part. When the supply port and the output port are projected on a virtual plane orthogonal to an extending direction of an inner surface of a supply channel connected to the reservoir part at the supply port, a center of gravity of the supply port and a center of gravity of the output port are separated from each other.
