20220047749 · 2022-02-17 ·

A food processing and/or packaging device comprises at least one food chamber. Via a conduit system, the at least one food chamber is connected to a vacuum pump for generating vacuum in the at least one food chamber. For sterilizing the conduit system and/or the food chamber, a sterilization device is provided. The sterilization device comprises e.g. spray nozzles for introducing cleaning liquid into the conduit system. The cleaning liquid is separated by a liquid separator arranged upstream of the vacuum pump in flow direction.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ONSITE SORBENT MATERIAL REUSE

Methods, sorbent cartridges and cleaning devices are disclosed for refurbishing sorbent materials. In one implementation among multiple implementations, a medical fluid delivery method includes: providing a sorbent cartridge including H.sup.+ZP within a casing for a treatment; and after the treatment, refurbishing the H.sup.+ZP while maintained within the casing via (i) regenerating the non-disinfected H.sup.+ZP by flowing an acid solution through the casing, (ii) rinsing the regenerated H.sup.+ZP while maintained within the casing, (iii) disinfecting the regenerated and rinsed H.sup.+ZP by flowing a disinfecting agent through the casing, and (iv) rinsing the regenerated and disinfected H.sup.+ZP while maintained within the casing. Multiple batch sorbent refurbishing implementations are also disclosed.

Treatment Of Fluid Transport Conduit With Ultraviolet Radiation

An approach for treating a fluid transport conduit with ultraviolet radiation is disclosed. A light guiding unit, operatively coupled to a set of ultraviolet radiation sources, encloses the fluid transport conduit. The light guiding unit directs ultraviolet radiation emitted from the ultraviolet radiation sources to ultraviolet transparent sections on an outer surface of the fluid transport conduit. The emitted ultraviolet radiation passes through the ultraviolet transparent sections, penetrates the fluid transport conduit and irradiates the internal walls. A control unit adjusts a set of operating parameters of the ultraviolet radiation sources as a function of the removal of contaminants from the internal walls of the fluid transport conduit.

Ultraviolet Razor Blade Treatment

An ultraviolet razor blade treatment system for providing a cleaning treatment to a shaving razor is disclosed. The ultraviolet razor blade treatment system can include a shaving razor cleaning unit that has at least one ultraviolet radiation source and sensor to clean surfaces of the shaving razor for purposes of disinfection, sterilization, and/or sanitization.

System and method for cleaning and disinfecting shopping carts

The present invention provides a system and method for cleaning and disinfecting shopping carts. The system comprises a main housing with three main systems: a steam system, an ultraviolet system and a microwave system. The combination of the systems allows for the reduction of germs and viruses without the use of chemicals which may be both harmful to the shopping carts and to the environment. A conveying means allows shopping carts to be displaced through the system. The system further provides a disinfecting box in connection with the main housing for users to disinfect their hands. The method provided allows for the cleaning and disinfecting of a shopping cart with the use of the system.

Instrument disinfecting apparatus and method. The instrument disinfecting apparatus includes a first nozzle sized to be positioned with respect to an instrument to at least partially disinfect the instrument, a first hose configured to operably connect with the first nozzle, and a disinfectant generator. The disinfectant generator is configured to operably connect with the first hose and emit a disinfectant agent into the first hose so that the disinfectant agent travels through the first hose and exits the first nozzle to at least partially disinfectant the instrument.

Performic acid biofilm prevention for industrial CO.SUB.2 .scrubbers

Peroxyformic acid compositions for removal of biofilm growth and other contaminants and impurities from industrial processing hard surfaces are disclosed. In particular, peroxyformic acid compositions may be dosed on site and/or generated in situ for the reduction and prevention of biofilms on the hard surfaces. Methods of employing the peroxyformic acid compositions for removal of biofilm growth and other impurities such as aldehydes and alcohols from industrial CO.sub.2 effluent are also disclosed which beneficially provide ambient biofilm control and break down more rapidly than other peracids, allowing for extended runs between CIP cleaning, including a reduction and/or elimination of cleaning of the scrubbers and other industrial surfaces.

Compositions and methods for the reduction of biofilm and spores from membranes

Methods of cleaning and sanitizing membrane modules within a membrane system are provided. A cleaning solution is circulated through the membrane system for about 2 to about 30 minutes. The cleaning solution includes organic acid and surfactant. A sanitizing solution is added to the cleaning solution to produce a boosted antimicrobial solution comprising an oxidizer. The boosted antimicrobial solution is then circulated through the membrane system for about 1 to about 20 minutes. The methods described are effective for reducing and removing bacterial spores and biofilms from membranes and improving membrane compatibility of effective cleaning and sanitizing solutions.

Method for harvesting and processing water hyacinths, characterized in that the following steps are performed: a) the water hyacinths growing in an aquatic medium are cut; b) the water hyacinths are collected on board a barge at berth (1); c) the collected water hyacinths are transferred onto draining racks (2) near the quayside; d) the drained hyacinths are washed with clean water; e) the washed water hyacinths are drained on vibrating belts (7) in order to remove some of the excess water; f) the water hyacinths are dried on a dryer (8) at a temperature of between 50 and 100° C. for 5 to 17 h; g) the water hyacinths and their seeds are steam-sterilised at a temperature of between 80 and 100° C. in order to sterilise them; h) the sterilised water hyacinths and seeds are ground in order to make profitable use thereof.

APPARATUS AND METHOD TO REPEATEDLY FILL AND PURGE CHANNELS OF ENDOSCOPE
20220031424 · 2022-02-03 ·

A medical device reprocessor is operable to perform a method of cleaning an internal channel of a medical device. The method entails activating a pump assembly to deliver a detergent to the internal channel for a first predetermined duration, activating the pump assembly to deliver water to the internal channel to rinse out the detergent for a second predetermined duration, and activating the pump assembly to deliver pressurized air to the internal channel to purge out the water or detergent contained within the internal channel for a third predetermined duration. Subsequently, the method involves activating the pump assembly to deliver a predetermined volume of disinfectant to the internal channel, and activating the pump assembly to deliver pressurized air to purge out the disinfectant into a chamber. The method repeats filling the internal channel with detergent, water and disinfectant and the subsequent purging of the internal channel with pressurized air.
