SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUSES FOR MODIFICATION OF THE STRUCTURAL CAPACITY OF SPACE FRAMES
20190063056 · 2019-02-28 ·

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for effectively increasing the structural capacity of space frames. In various embodiments, a space frame may be post-tensioned with interior cables that attach to nodes and form unique load transfer paths, thereby redistributing the member stresses and generally creating uniformity amongst stress types. Further, in various embodiments, variable space frame geometry may be employed to match the structural capacity of the space frame with the structural loads on the same, thereby modifying a space frame to comprise one or more empty bays or stretch bays.

UNITARY HUBS FOR DOMES OR SPHERES
20190055729 · 2019-02-21 ·

A unitary hub includes a central body and two or more tubular cylindrical prongs that can be used in conjunction with two or more struts to construct a dome or a sphere, such as a geodesic dome. The prongs have a first segment and a second segment that are disposed at an angle. The first segment has a first inner diameter and the second segment has a second inner diameter thereby creating a recess for the struts to be positioned easily and accurately within the prongs. The central body is formed from joining the two or more prongs disposed around an axial axis through a center of the central body. The central body has a top and bottom side with a spherically concaved section having a curvature. The struts may be tubular and cylindrical and can be inserted into the prongs or over the prongs.

Batten bar assembly

A batten bar is configured to secure first and second adjacent flat panels to a structural framework. The batten bar includes first and second inside legs, first and second outside legs, and a plurality of apertures disposed along the length of the batten bar. The first and second inside legs define a central channel. The first outside leg and the first inside leg define a first seal recess configured to receive and retain a first seal. The second outside leg and the second inside leg define a second seal recess configured to receive and retain a second seal. In an installed configuration, the first inside leg and the first outside leg are configured to contact the first flat panel along a first common plane, and the second inside leg and second outside leg contact the second panel along a second common plane.

An assembly for integrating an elongate structural member is provided. The elongate structural member includes a first end portion, a second end portion, and an elongate mid-portion that extends between the first and the second end portions. The first end portion is within a first plane and the second end portion within a second plane, and the first and the second planes are offset and parallel to each other. The elongate mid-portion is sloped between the first and the second planes. each of the first and the second end portions defining therein a polygonal hole. Multiple elongate structural members may be used to assemble a lattice structure.

Curvature adjustable magnetic strut
12173495 · 2024-12-24 ·

The present application is directed to a curvature adjustable magnetic strut for securing pipe, conduit and tubing to a curved structure for storing liquids and gasses, such as a fuel tank. More particularly, several variants of the curvature adjustable magnetic strut is disclosed which enables varying curved or flat surfaces to be accommodated in securing pipe, conduit and tubing to a cylindrical tank, whether that tank be in the vertical or the horizontal position. The curvature adjustable magnetic strut comprises a strut affixed to a base plate having three or more magnets attached. In operation, the base plate can be curvature adjusted using one or more adjustment screws. In related embodiments, varying length struts with varying length single and double hinged bracket assemblies thereon are secured to both securing strut plates and magnet base plates having two or more magnets are used to adjust for varying tank curvature.
